Peter\u2019s Pub, one of Dublin\u2019s best-known venues<\/a>, returned to profit the year it was acquired by the O\u2019Malley family.<\/p>\n

Last year, owners of the premises Enda and Pauline Keogh put the pub up for sale<\/a> at a guide price of \u20ac4.25 million.<\/p>\n

The pub, based on the corner of Johnson Place at the end of South William Street, was acquired for a reported \u20ac5 million in July 2025<\/a> by the family behind the O\u2019Malley Pub Group, who own Dublin venues including The Yacht in Clontarf, Fagan\u2019s in Drumcondra and The Old Stand on Exchequer Street. <\/p>\n

Latest accounts for Peter\u2019s Pub show it made a post-tax profit of \u20ac141,000 in the year that ended August 2025, compared to a loss of \u20ac713,000 in 2024.<\/p>\n

The loss in 2024 was linked to a significant increase in Keogh\u2019s remuneration package in the year, which rose from \u20ac216,900 to \u20ac1.3 million after the pair paid themselves \u20ac1.1 million of pension contributions. <\/p>\n

The latest \u20ac141,000 profit has pushed accumulated profits at Peter\u2019s Pub Ltd up to \u20ac1 million. The company, which employed 10 people last year, valued its property holdings at \u20ac940,000.<\/p>\n

The premises located in Dublin\u2019s south city centre has been listed as part of the O\u2019Malley Pub Group, headed by Eamonn and Michael O\u2019Malley.<\/p>\n

The filings <\/a>for Peter\u2019s Pub Ltd show the venue is not linked to the O\u2019Malley Pub Group\u2019s main holding company Romont Ltd and is instead equally owned by Eamonn O\u2019Malley jnr, David O\u2019Malley and Sean O\u2019Malley, who are aged between 30 and 34.<\/p>\n

Peter\u2019s Pub, which is a short walk from St Stephen\u2019s Green and Grafton Street, has been operating as a licensed premises <\/a>since the 1700s. <\/p>\n

The Keoghs operated the venue for almost 50 years before selling the premises.<\/p>\n
