Travel subscription company eDreams ODIGEO<\/a> (eDO) is working with Visa<\/a> to enable AI agents to initiate transactions on its platforms.<\/p>\n

The integration enabled by this collaboration will enable general AI interfaces to complete purchases directly on eDO\u2019s eDreams<\/a>, Opodo<\/a>, GO Voyages<\/a> and Travellink<\/a> travel brands, eDO said in a Friday (July 3) press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

eDreams ODIGEO Chief Marketing Officer Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Esclapez<\/a> said in the release that this capability will build on eDO\u2019s existing foundation for \u201cconversational travel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe structural complexity of global travel demands a highly sophisticated execution engine, which we have built through our AI-first approach,\u201d Esclapez said. \u201cNow, by working with Visa to support secure AI agent-initiated transactions, we are unlocking even more possibilities for how people purchase travel.\u201d<\/p>\n

To support these transactions, eDO is using Visa\u2019s Trusted Agent Protocol<\/a> and Agentic Directory to recognize and manage interactions with verified AI agents, while customer banks use Visa Payment Passkey<\/a> to help ensure each transaction is verified and trusted.<\/p>\n

\u201cAI agents are already playing a growing role in how people discover products, but until now, those journeys have often stopped short at the point of payment,\u201d Mathieu Altwegg<\/a>, head of product and solutions at Visa Europe, said in the release. \u201cWhat we\u2019re now enabling with partners like eDreams ODIGEO is the ability for those interactions to continue through to purchase \u2014 allowing merchants to securely complete those journeys \u2014 opening up a new channel through which customers can transact.\u201d<\/p>\n

Visa unveiled Agentic Directory on June 10, saying this tool shows agents and merchants that a company has been verified as a legitimate participant in agentic commerce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The company introduced its Trusted Agent Protocol in October 2025 to facilitate AI shopping<\/a> by allowing secure communication between merchants and AI agents.<\/p>\n

Visa Payment Passkey was introduced in May 2024 to confirm a consumer\u2019s identity<\/a> and authorize online payments with a facial or fingerprint scan.<\/p>\n
