Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT)<\/a> has expanded its maritime security work across Europe, completing customer training and drone handovers in Italy and Greece. <\/p>\n

The New Jersey company, which develops autonomous maritime systems and offshore power solutions, said the activities supported deployment of its systems by international customers over recent weeks. <\/p>\n

Ocean Power also took part in the 11th National Maritime Security Forum in Warsaw, where the company joined government, military and industry figures to discuss protection of critical maritime infrastructure and Baltic security. <\/p>\n

The company said it was recognised at the event by Jacek Siewiera, the former head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, who welcomed its involvement in security planning for Polish infrastructure. <\/p>\n

The push reflects a broader effort by defence and technology suppliers to position autonomous maritime systems as tools for protecting undersea cables, pipelines and other infrastructure, an area of heightened concern for Baltic states. <\/p>\n

Ocean Power framed the activity as evidence of growing international interest in autonomous maritime technology and its expanding role alongside allied and partner nations. <\/p>\n

The company said it was continuing to build its international presence through customer deployments, training, partnerships and appearances at maritime security forums. <\/p>\n

Ocean Power supplies systems to the defence and security, oil and gas, research and offshore wind markets. <\/p>\n

Its products include Merrows, a system designed to integrate maritime domain awareness across platforms using artificial intelligence, and its PowerBuoy platform, which provides electric power and data communications for remote offshore and subsea use. <\/p>\n
