The date was revealed Saturday during a presentation at Essence Festival of Culture, featuring creator, showrunner and exec producer <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ben-watkins\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ben-watkins\" data-tag=\"ben-watkins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Watkins<\/a>, star <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jaalen-best\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jaalen-best\" data-tag=\"jaalen-best\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jaalen Best<\/a>, and cast members Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, Kai Parham, and Michael Ealy. The streamer also released a first-look teaser which you can see above.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Greatest, starring Best as Ali, is billed as an intimate exploration of the incomparable life of the boxing champion, humanitarian and global icon. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tExecutive produced by Lonnie Ali, the widow of the late boxing legent, The Greatest is the first authorized scripted series about the life of Ali. The eight-episode series will feature defining moments in Ali\u2019s life and career, both in and out of the ring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlongside Watkins\u2019 Blue Monday Productions (Cross)\u00a0and Michael B. Jordan\u2019s Outlier Society (The\u00a0Creed\u00a0Franchise), are Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment, a Universal Music Group partner, and Grace: A Storytelling Company, with Watkins as showrunner and executive producer. Outlier Society president Elizabeth Raposo executive produces, along with Authentic Brand Group\u2019s Corey Salter, Marc Rosen and Matthew Gross, also serving as executive producers.
