It\u2019s set to feature guest appearances from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/paul-mccartney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul McCartney<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/robert-smith\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Smith<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/steve-winwood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Steve\u00a0Winwood<\/a>, and the band\u2019s late drummer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/charlie-watts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie Watts<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 you can pre-order your copy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rollingstones.lnk.to\/ForeignTongues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The album will be made up of 14 tracks, including \u2018In The Stars\u2019, \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/check-out-the-rolling-stones-vinyl-only-new-single-rough-twisted-as-the-cockroaches-3940247\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rough\u00a0And\u00a0Twisted<\/a>\u2019, and a cover of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-rolling-stones-new-album-foreign-tongues-also-features-an-amy-winehouse-cover-3944671\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> the Winehouse classic \u2018You Know I\u2019m No Good\u2019<\/a>. The singer, who tragically died 15 years ago this month due to alcohol poisoning at just 27, was particularly close with Ronnie Wood, and, in a new interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/culture\/music\/article\/the-rolling-stones-interview-nfpzwlrds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Sunday Times<\/a>, he looked back on their friendship and discussed her battle with addiction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe would go, \u2018Oh, Ronnie, what am I going to do?\u2019 I said, \u2018Look, everyone knows you\u2019ve got vodka in the water bottle. Get it together and get on stage.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that her personal issues never affected her performances, saying: \u201cIf you could get her up there [on stage] and she stayed there, it\u2019d be great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wood added: \u201cI\u2019m sad because she didn\u2019t do her full span. It was like saying goodbye to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/billie-holiday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Billie Holiday<\/a> again.\u201d\u00a0Meanwhile,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/keith-richards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Richards<\/a> expressed regret he\u2019d not gotten to know her better after their Isle of Wight performance in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was always sort of, \u2018Well, I\u2019m bound to meet her down the road,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cYou expect things to happen, and unfortunately no. But that\u2019s what records are for. I\u2019m just very glad and honoured to have played with her at least once.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the time,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/mick-jagger\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mick Jagger<\/a> said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/the-rolling-stones-443-1344910\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he wanted to work with her ahead of them sharing the bill<\/a>. In the end, they did share a stage, singing a duet of The Temptations\u2019 \u2018Ain\u2019t Too Proud To Beg\u2019, which you can watch above.<\/p>\n<p>As for the upcoming Stones album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/mick-jagger-tells-us-it-was-very-easy-working-with-paul-mccartney-on-the-rolling-stones-foreign-tongues-3954324\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jagger recently sat down with NME to talk about the \u201cvery easy\u201d experience of working with<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/paul-mccartney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul McCartney<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-beatles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Beatles<\/a> legend took on bass duties for the song \u2018Covered In You\u2019. He also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/paul-mccartney-tells-us-about-working-on-the-rolling-stones-new-album-i-was-glad-i-wasnt-blase-about-it-its-really-exciting-3948338\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0about his excitement to get involved in the record<\/a>, explaining that he was \u201cchuffed\u201d to be asked to contribute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou could be a bit blas\u00e9 and go, \u2018Yeah, OK, so what?\u2019 But for me, it wasn\u2019t \u2013 it went the other way,\u201d he said, going on to recall how he felt in the studio.<\/p>\n<p>Now,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/music-interviews\/mick-jagger-rolling-stones-foreign-tongues-glastonbury-next-album-live-dates-3953989\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in a new interview with\u00a0NME<\/a>, Stones frontman Jagger has opened up about what it was like to get the music legend in the studio with them, and revealed that he recorded his part in \u201cthe same session as he did \u2018Bite My Head Off\u2019\u201d for their last album, 2023\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/the-rolling-stones-hackney-diamonds-review-lyrics-tracklist-3515754\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new tune is more of a funk bass part,\u201d Jagger explained, before going on to share what it was like to work alongside McCartney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very easy,\u201d he told\u00a0NME. \u201cObviously, I\u2019ve known Paul for ages. He\u2019s not a stranger, but he\u2019s never played bass with us before. It\u2019s a different thing, you know?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/andrew-watt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andy [Watt<\/a>, producer], \u2018Is he gonna be into this because it\u2019s a punk tune and I want overdriven bass. It\u2019s gonna be simple, no mucking about.\u2019 And Paul did exactly what was needed in, like, 10 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Jagger said, this wasn\u2019t the first time that the two of them joined forces since taking the music world by storm in the \u201860s. Aside from collabs on \u2018Bite My Head Off\u2019 and \u2018Covered In You\u2019, McCartney and his Beatles bandmate\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/john-lennon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">John Lennon<\/a>\u00a0also helped pen the Stones\u2019 second single \u2018I Wanna Be Your Man\u2019 in 1963.
