After three years of false starts, Fast Forever is on the road to reality.<\/p>\n
Before the weekend, star and franchise producer Vin Diesel used Instagram to announce production had started, where \u201cpeople are grinding and incredible crews are working.\u201d Diesel\u2019s always been the franchise\u2019s public face, and that\u2019s been even more true with Forever.\u00a0From airing grievances with Universal<\/a> to promising a release date<\/a>, he\u2019s been hyping up the movie when it seemed like it wouldn\u2019t even happen without some potential creative and financial concessions<\/a> made.<\/p>\n In his video, Diesel thanked the \u201cbest fans in the world\u201d for being patient for news since\u00a0Fast X premiered in\u00a02023. \u201cYou\u2019ve been patient to the industry and the studio, and you\u2019ve been patient with me,\u201d he said. \u201cOver the past three-and-a-half years, we\u2019ve been grinding to make the most amazing finale. [\u2026] Know that I hope to make you all proud.\u201d<\/p>\n As of this past January,\u00a0Fast Forever\u00a0will see the return of franchise vets Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot. There\u2019s question marks over who else from the last movie will come back, including Sung Kang and Nathalie Emmanuel, who respectively play Han and Ramsey. (Those two were with Roman and Tej on the plane that crashed.) Likewise, it\u2019s anyone\u2019s guess over how, or if, this movie will bring back Brian O\u2019Conner (Paul Walker), something Diesel promised back in 2025.<\/p>\n These questions will likely be answered by the time\u00a0Fast Forever releases in theaters on March 17, 2028.<\/p>\n Want more io9 news?
