{"id":57349,"date":"2025-09-11T13:28:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T13:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/57349\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T13:28:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T13:28:08","slug":"major-traffic-delays-following-third-collision-on-limerick-motorways-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/57349\/","title":{"rendered":"Major traffic delays following third collision on Limerick motorways this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A SINGLE vehicle collision has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/section\/751\/farming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">occurred<\/a> on the M20 in Limerick this morning, causing major traffic delays.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third early morning collision on Limerick\u2019s motorway network this week.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred on the M20\/N20 southbound near Patrickswell, before the Cork exit, Junction 5, just after 7am this Thursday, September 11.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Limerick Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that units were called to the scene at 7.07am, before returning to base almost two hours later at 8.53am.<\/p>\n<p>Four units from Limerick city attended the incident, alongside one from Rathkeale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to a query from Limerick Live, a spokesperson for An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na confirmed: &#8220;Garda\u00ed and emergency services attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the M20 road, Attyflin, Co Limerick on Thursday,\u00a0September 11, 2025 at approximately 7am.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/environment\/1890877\/limerick-city-and-county-cou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick City and County Council launch noise and air quality tracking<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;No injuries have been reported at this time,&#8221; the spokesperson continued, adding:\u00a0&#8220;Investigations are ongoing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) spokesperson warned that \u201cdelays to your journey will occur\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsider a different journey route or start time. When approaching the collision location, drive with caution, reduce your speed and obey instructions from emergency services,\u201d the comment continued.<\/p>\n<p>The first in the trio of early morning rush hour motorway collisions in Limerick this week occurred on Monday, September 8.<\/p>\n<p>The incident involving multiple vehicles occurred at around 8.40am on the M7 between Junction 29, Ballysimon, and Junction 30, Rosbrien.<\/p>\n<p>The second incident, involving four vehicles, occurred at approximately 8.30am on Tuesday, September 9 on the M7 between Junction 29, Ballysimon, and Junction 28, Castletroy.<\/p>\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT &#8211; CONTINUE READING BELOW<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A SINGLE vehicle collision has occurred on the M20 in Limerick this morning, causing major traffic delays.
