It was also a notable frame for local titles from India and Japan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStudio-wise, last weekend\u2019s champ, New Line\/Warner Bros\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/weapons\/\" id=\"auto-tag_weapons\" data-tag=\"weapons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Weapons<\/a>, was tops with another <strong>$18.4M<\/strong> in its offshore arsenal from 73 markets. The overseas cume is now <strong>$59.7M<\/strong> for <strong>$148.8M<\/strong> global.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn milestones, Universal\/Amblin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jurassic-world-rebirth\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jurassic-world-rebirth\" data-tag=\"jurassic-world-rebirth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jurassic World Rebirth<\/a> well surpassed $800M global, and both DC\/Warner\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/superman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_superman\" data-tag=\"superman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Superman<\/a> and Apple\/WB\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/f1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">F1<\/a> are on their way to topping $600M worldwide, apiece.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore we get into the details on the above, let\u2019s look at what\u2019s happening with some local titles that either had terrific debuts or are continuing on in expansion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIndia\u2019s got two movies in the mix: Rajinikanth-starrer <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/coolie\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coolie\" data-tag=\"coolie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Coolie<\/a>, and Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr.-starrer War 2. Each opened with a bang. Estimates we are hearing put Coolie at $45.4M global, including about $27M from India. For War 2, comScore has $31.5M worldwide. As we always note, India is extremely ornery to track, and we will update accordingly. Either way, great starts for each.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn other local news, this time in expanded overseas play via Crunchyroll\/Sony, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/demon-slayer-kimetsu-no-yaiba-infinity-castle\/\" id=\"auto-tag_demon-slayer-kimetsu-no-yaiba-infinity-castle\" data-tag=\"demon-slayer-kimetsu-no-yaiba-infinity-castle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle<\/a> set new records with a\u00a0$17.5M\u00a0No. 1 opening in the eight Southeast Asian markets that debuted this weekend. The latest installment in the blockbuster anime franchise surpassed the entire regional lifetime for\u00a0Demon Slayer \u2013 Kimetsu no Yaiba \u2013 The Movie: Mugen Train\u00a0as well as\u00a0Frozen II\u00a0for the highest all-time animated opening for this group of markets at current exchange rates. The launch was over twice as big as\u00a0Inside Out 2, Super Mario Bros., Moana 2 and\u00a0Ne Zha 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn individual records, <strong>Indonesia<\/strong>, with $3.6M,logged the biggest anime opening ever and the highest opening weekend locally since\u00a0Deadpool &amp; Wolverine.\u00a0<strong>Hong Kong<\/strong>, at\u00a0$3.5M, had the largest anime opening ever and the top start since 2019.\u00a0<strong>Thailand\u00a0<\/strong>bowed to\u00a0$3.2M, the best anime and animation opening of all time. Other anime records were set in\u00a0<strong>Malaysia<\/strong>\u00a0($3.3M) and\u00a0<strong>Vietnam<\/strong>\u00a0($2.5M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tInfinity Castle has, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/07\/demon-slayer-infinity-castle-japan-box-office-records-1236464538\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">already broken records<\/a> since its July release in Japan and still has several markets to release including the U.S., Mexico, Australia, UK, Spain, France and Germany. The global cume is estimated at $192.8M through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurning back to the studio top-liners, New Line\/WB\u2019s Weapons pulled in another <strong>$18.4M<\/strong>\u00a0from 73 overseas markets for a 33% drop from opening weekend. The international running cume is\u00a0<strong>$59.7M<\/strong>\u00a0and the global cume to date is\u00a0<strong>$148.8M<\/strong>\u00a0through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAmong strong individual holds were Chile (+2%), Sweden (-6%), Germany (-11%), Holland (-17%), Saudi Arabia (-22%), Philippines (-23%), Brazil (-25%), France (-28%), Italy (-29%), Mexico (-29%), Argentina (-30%) and Australia (-31%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn like-for-like markets and using today\u2019s exchange rates, the film is tracking ahead of Sinners (+47%), Smile (+42%), M3GAN (+41%) and 28 Years Later (+27%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Imax cume is $13.8M global.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUniversal\/DreamWorks Animation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-bad-guys-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-bad-guys-2\" data-tag=\"the-bad-guys-2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Bad Guys 2<\/a> continued its staggered offshore release this session, adding <strong>$13.7M<\/strong> from 67 markets (-34% in the holdovers). That brings the international running total to <strong>$60.2M<\/strong>, which is above the original at the same point. Globally, Bad Guys 2 crossed the century mark for <strong>$117.4M<\/strong> to date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNew openers included <strong>China<\/strong>, where the gang bowed on Saturday amid stiff local competition (including an animated title), and stole away with $6.7M for the two-day debut \u2014 the biggest studio animation opening in the market this year. The start is above\u00a0Elemental,\u00a0and well above\u00a0Trolls\u00a0and\u00a0The Bad Guys\u00a0(which all opened on a Friday).\u00a0The Maoyan score is 9.5 with the ticketing site predicting a $40M+ full run.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDrops were very good in majors like France (-13%), Korea (-25%) and Spain (-29%) while increases were seen in Argentina (+10%) and Netherlands (+7%), among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tStill to release are Italy, Germany and Australia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 to date are: <strong>UK<\/strong> ($11.8M), <strong>France<\/strong> ($6.7M), <strong>Spain<\/strong> ($5M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($4.7M) and <strong>Korea<\/strong> ($2.4M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Jurassic juggernaut continues for Universal with Jurassic World Rebirth adding another <strong>$9.9M<\/strong> in 83 offshore markets this 7th session. That\u2019s a 39% dip from last frame and takes the international cume to <strong>$496.5M<\/strong>. Global is now well across the eight-century mark, with <strong>$828.6M<\/strong> worldwide through Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis weekend, JWR surpassed the overseas box office cumes of Mission: Impossible \u2013 Rogue Nation, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Jumanji: The Next Level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tJapan was a standout in its second frame despite local competition, already reaching $20.8M.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAll markets have been released, and the Top 5 to date are: <strong>China<\/strong> ($79M), <strong>UK<\/strong> ($46.4M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($36M), <strong>Germany<\/strong> ($31.6M) and <strong>France<\/strong> ($27.7M).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMarvel\/Disney\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-fantastic-four-first-steps\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-fantastic-four-first-steps\" data-tag=\"the-fantastic-four-first-steps\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/a> has reached a global cume through its fourth Sunday of <strong>$468.7M<\/strong>, still skewing domestic with a little over 47% from the international box office where the running cume is <strong>$221.7M<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis overseas frame was <strong>$9.3M<\/strong> with all markets released. F4:FS is the highest-grossing superhero genre title of the year across Latin America and was again No. 1 in Brazil this weekend. The overall overseas drop was 48% and included good holds in such majors as France (-26%), Spain (-28%), Italy (-39%), Japan (-42%), Brazil (-43%), Mexico (-47%), Australia (-49%), UK (-49%) and Germany (-50%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 offshore markets to date are: <strong>UK<\/strong> ($27.9M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($26.2M), <strong>France<\/strong> ($14.3M), <strong>Brazil<\/strong> ($12.8M) and <strong>Australia<\/strong> ($10.6M).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMeanwhile, last weekend\u2019s new Disney pic, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/freakier-friday\/\" id=\"auto-tag_freakier-friday\" data-tag=\"freakier-friday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Freakier Friday<\/a>, grossed <strong>$9.3M <\/strong>in 47 material overseas markets, taking the offshore cume to <strong>$31.5M<\/strong> and global to <strong>$86.3M<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe reteam of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis dipped by just 37% internationally, and has been performing strongly in Latin America. This weekend it held the No. 1 spot in that region as a whole with great holds in some markets including Brazil (-22%) and Mexico (-32%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCurrently playing in about 85% of the overseas footprint, Freakier Friday opens next weekend in Taiwan and has such majors as Korea (August 27) and Japan (September 5) on deck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 to date are: <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($5.7M), <strong>UK<\/strong> ($5.5M), <strong>Australia<\/strong> ($2.6M), <strong>Argentina<\/strong> ($1.8M) and <strong>Colombia<\/strong> ($1.4M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCapping off the trifecta of movies grossing <strong>$9.3M<\/strong> internationally this weekend, Apple Original Films\u2019 F1, via Warner Bros clocked only a 23% drop from last weekend \u2013 seriously impressive in the 8th\u00a0frame. The international total is currently\u00a0<strong>$407.2M<\/strong>\u00a0and the global running cume is\u00a0<strong>$590M<\/strong>\u00a0through Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Korea, where audiences are driving hard, F1 is now the No. 1 movie of 2025, ahead of all local titles.
