Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has confirmed a big change for Bethany Platt amid her comeback plot.<\/p>\n

The actor is due to return to the cobbles soon after taking a few months off for maternity leave, having welcomed a baby with partner Ryan Ledson in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Digital Spy<\/strong> at last night’s National Television Awards<\/a>, Lucy said she was “really excited” to be back on the cobbles.<\/p>\n

“It’s good to be back with everybody \u2013 not hiding a baby bump anymore!” she said. “It’s nice to just be free! It’s exciting, I’m looking forward to everyone seeing it.”<\/p>\n

Speaking further on how her character has transformed since her exit<\/a>, which saw Bethany head to London to pursue dreams of being a journalist, the star said that “not much has changed for her really”.<\/p>\n

However, she then teased: “Apart from \u2013 she’s knocked the journalism on the head, and she’s coming back with a fresh new job actually, working somewhere on the street. Could be anywhere!”<\/p>\n

Lucy confirmed back in July that she had been back filming scenes<\/a>, sharing a mirror selfie with the words: “And just like that, she\u2019s back.”<\/p>\n

She previously assured fans that she wouldn’t “be away for toooo long”<\/a>, adding: “I am returning after I pop the baby out.”<\/p>\n

Back in January, Lucy confirmed the name of her baby as Nancy Margaret Ledson, calling the newborn “a dream come true”. She and Ryan also share a son called Sonny.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street<\/strong> airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on <\/strong>ITVX<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
