\n\tSacha Baron Cohen<\/a> has wrapped production on a new Ali G<\/a> film, which will bring his sketch comedy breakout to back to big screen. The character was previously featured in 2002\u2019s \u201cAli G Indahouse.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tThe film was shot in secret, much like Cohen operated on 2006\u2019s \u201cBorat\u201d and\u00a02020\u2019s \u201cBorat Subsequent Moviefilm,\u201d two of his most popular movies. Cohen also brought another of his sketch characters to cinemas with 2009\u2019s \u201cBr\u00fcno.\u201d As fans of the comedian know, Ali G is a streetwise interviewer whose hip hop slang often bewilders guests such as Noam Chomsky, Andy Rooney and Newt Gingrich. The character originally appeared on\u00a0Channel 4\u2019s\u00a0\u201cThe 11 O\u2019Clock Show\u201d before becoming the title character of\u00a0\u201cDa Ali G Show\u201d\u00a0in the early 2000s. He earned a following in the U.S. when the program aired on HBO. <\/p>\n \n\tA spokesperson for Cohen declined to comment. Cohen\u2019s credits include his Oscar-nominated turn as Abbie Hoffman in \u201cThe Trial of the Chicago 7.\u201d He has also starred in \u201cSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,\u201d \u201cThe Dictator,\u201d\u00a0\u201cHugo,\u201d \u201cAlice Through the Looking Glass,\u201d \u201cLes Mis\u00e9rables\u201d and several \u201cMadagascar\u201d films.<\/p>\n \n\tCohen recently appeared in the Netflix film \u201cLadies First\u201d and \u201cBalls Up.\u201d On streaming, he also starred opposite Kevin Kline and Cate Blanchett in Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n\u2019s \u201cDisclaimer\u201d for Apple+. Cohen created the 2019 sketch show \u201cWho is America,\u201d earning Emmy nominations in the process.
