It really did seem like if you even made eye contact with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce within the past year, you were invited to the wedding, but a few people had to miss the big day.<\/p>\n
Ryan Seacrest had to miss out due to a work commitment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI RSVP\u2019d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th, and so I had to cancel,\u201d he revealed on Monday\u2019s \u201cOn Air with Ryan Seacrest.\u201d<\/p>\n
His cohosts, Tanya Rad and Sisanie Villaclara were shocked, with Rad joking \u201cWaste of an invite!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a waste,\u201d Seacrest countered. \u201cI was actually really excited. I was kind of torn. I went through the minutes, I couldn\u2019t have done both. And the actual wedding was in the afternoon. I went through the minutes! But I was so honored and thrilled to be invited.\u201d<\/p>\n
He even bumped into the couple while out at dinner, where they discussed \u201cthe event\u201d (to maintain secrecy) but he ended up having to cancel for the work gig.<\/p>\n
Robert Pattinson had to decline the invitation for similar reasons, though his fianc\u00e9e, Suki Waterhouse, was one of the guests.<\/p>\n
Pattinson had to be in London for two jobs, promoting his upcoming film, \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d and filming for \u201cThe Batman: Part II.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actor was told by Entertainment Tonight\u2019s Kevin Frazier<\/a> on \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d red carpet that prizes had been given out to guests who won raffle tickets, to which Pattinson quipped, \u201cThey were giving away lots of stuff? What did I get?\u201d<\/p>\n He reportedly missed out on a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, designer handbags, and Cartier watches.<\/p>\n Singer-songwriter James Taylor, who happens to be Swift\u2019s namesake, was also booked and busy and had to miss out on the wedding.<\/p>\n Taylor has maintained a five-year tradition of performing during Independence Day in Lenox, Mass., with his all-star band, and told the crowd he didn\u2019t want to cancel.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, Kim and I were invited to a wedding at Madison Square Garden tonight,\u201d he told the audience, referring to his wife, Caroline \u201cKim\u201d Smedvig, per Entertainment Weekly<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI do want to wish the couple all happiness and smooth sailing and strength when it can\u2019t be smooth,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Another notable absence was Margaret Qualley, who had to miss for work reasons as well, per Us Weekly<\/a>.
