{"id":574566,"date":"2026-07-08T05:52:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T05:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/574566\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T05:52:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T05:52:11","slug":"wes-anderson-was-trapped-in-academy-museum-elevator-rescued-by-lafd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/574566\/","title":{"rendered":"Wes Anderson Was Trapped in Academy Museum\u00a0Elevator, Rescued by LAFD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After participating in a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Bottle Rock on Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/wes-anderson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_wes-anderson_1\" data-tag=\"wes-anderson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wes Anderson<\/a> found himself trapped in an elevator at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/academy-museum\/\" id=\"auto-tag_academy-museum_1\" data-tag=\"academy-museum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Academy Museum<\/a>\u00a0of Motion Pictures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The director was trapped in the elevator for roughly 30 minutes, alongside Luke Wilson producer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/james-l-brooks\/\" id=\"auto-tag_james-l-brooks_1\" data-tag=\"james-l-brooks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James L. Brooks<\/a>, before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/los-angeles\/\" id=\"auto-tag_los-angeles_1\" data-tag=\"los-angeles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles<\/a> Fire Department came to their aid. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Save Your Cinema claimed the elevator was \u201ca secret passageway\/elevator so celebrities can enter and exit without\u201d at the Academy Museum, though The Hollywood Reporter was not able to confirm if Anderson had taken an alternative entrance not made available to the public. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carolyn Dunn, a production specialist for 20th Century Fox, did, however, share a video of Anderson and Brooks exiting the elevator on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/Dagy-nABKF9\/\">Instagram<\/a>. In the clip, Anderson can be heard asking the LAFD what went wrong, to which one official responded, \u201cProbably had too much weight in there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOkay, thank you very much,\u201d Anderson replied. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THR has reached out to the Academy Museum and the LAFD for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/general-news\/bottle-rocket-review-1996-movie-1086888\/\">Bottle Rocket<\/a> marked the Oscar winner\u2019s feature directorial debut. It was released in 1996, and starred Luke and Owen Wilson, with the latter actor also being present for Monday night\u2019s event; Ned Dowdand Shea Fowler also starred.
