{"id":574580,"date":"2026-07-08T06:06:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T06:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/574580\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T06:06:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T06:06:13","slug":"edb-global-founder-programme-raises-over-us2-billion-in-vc-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/574580\/","title":{"rendered":"EDB Global Founder Programme raises over US$2 billion in VC funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-testid=\"article-description\">It has worked with almost 80 founders on more than 45 new ventures, with more than half in AI and deep tech<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">[SINGAPORE] The Economic Development Board\u2019s (EDB) Global Founder Programme \u2013 launched in April 2025 \u2013 has worked with close to 80 founders to grow more than 45 new ventures, collectively raising more than US$2 billion in venture capital funding to date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Over half of these ventures are in artificial intelligence and deep tech.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), as he highlighted that Singapore has remained attractive to leading research and entrepreneurial talent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Alongside the EDB programme, the Republic is also growing the pipeline of top scientific and engineering talent through the A*Star Graduate Scholarships and other university programmes, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">DPM Gan was responding to a question about how Singapore\u2019s deep tech ecosystem and development of critical and emerging technologies (CET) capabilities have been affected as countries start constraining the export of CET and associated manpower.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">\u201cThe government has not observed export constraints impeding the development of Singapore\u2019s deep tech ecosystem,\u201d he said.
