\n\tUPDATED, July 8, 2026: <\/strong>Another trailer for Denis Villeneuve\u2019s final Dune<\/a> film is here.<\/p>\n

\n\tZendaya\u2019s Chani is not happy with Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet\u2019s Paul Atreidies, who \u201cpromised\u201d her that he would never \u201ctake power in [his] name.\u201d Jason Momoa<\/a>\u2018s Duncan Idaho remarks how the Lisan al-Gaib has \u201cconquered the galaxy\u201d and \u201cdestroyed thousands of worlds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked what he thinks of that by Paul himself, Idaho says \u201cI think you\u2019re way beyond redemption.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFlorence Pugh\u2019s Princess Irulan and Robert Pattinson<\/a>\u2018s Scytale can be spotted discussion the latter\u2019s motive for a \u201cregime change,\u201d which Irulan translates to killing Paul.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIdiot,\u201d she tells Pattinson\u2019s blonde villain. \u201cYou\u2019ve just signed our death warrants.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA glimpse can also be seen of Anya Taylor-Joy<\/a>\u2018s Alia Atreides, covered in blood and screaming, as well as Paul and Chani\u2019s twins, held by their parents. The clip ends with Chani summoning a sandworm.<\/p>\n

\n\tPREVIOUS, March 17, 2026:<\/strong> Fans of the\u00a0Dune\u00a0franchise are getting their first peek at\u00a0Dune: Part Three<\/a>, with\u00a0Warner Bros<\/a>\u00a0and Legendary releasing the debut trailer Tuesday (watch it below).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, which hits theaters December 18, sees\u00a0Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a>,\u00a0Zendaya<\/a>, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem and\u00a0Anya Taylor-Joy<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 who had a cameo in\u00a0Part Two\u00a0\u2014 back, with\u00a0Robert Pattinson<\/a>\u00a0among the new additions to the cast.
On Monday,\u00a0character posters<\/a>\u00a0were released showing the key players, including the above as well as Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa and franchise newcomer Isaach de Bankol\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe trailer for the threequel, which\u00a0takes place 17 years after the events of\u00a0Dune: Part Two<\/a>, opens with Zendaya\u2019s Chani asking Chalamet\u2019s Paul, \u201cIf we have a girl, what will we name her?\u201d If it\u2019s a boy, she says they should name him Leto \u2014 after Duke Leto Atreides, Paul\u2019s father \u2014 because then \u201che would have the wisdom of his grandfather.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThen, amid scenes of vicious battle, we see Pattinson\u2019s character of Scytale, with his platinum blond buzz cut.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPaul, also sporting a buzz cut now, runs to the top of a plinth, high above a massive, cheering crowd. Then we see him facing an opponent in the desert. \u201cI\u2019m not afraid to die,\u201d we hear him say in voice-over, \u201cbut I must not die yet.\u201d In the final clip, Chani steels herself and runs toward an invisible adversary.
Dune\u00a0is Legendary\u2019s expansive, multi-format sci-fi universe based on Frank Herbert\u2019s Hugo Award-winning novel series. The collection has included two feature films, 2021\u2019s\u00a0Dune: Part One\u00a0and last year\u2019s\u00a0Dune:\u00a0Part Two, which earned a combined $1.12 billion at the global box office and won\u00a0eight\u00a0Oscars from 15 nominations, including\u00a0Best Picture<\/a>\u00a0noms for both.<\/p>\n

\n\tDenis Villeneuve<\/a>\u00a0directed and co-wrote all three pics.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe universe\u2019s most recent entry is prequel TV series\u00a0Dune: Prophecy, from\u00a0Lost\u00a0writer-producer Alison Schapker\u00a0and set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides.\u00a0The series premiered on\u00a0HBO and\u00a0Max in November.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline has been shown the brand new trailer for Dune: Part Three, and also took part in a Q&A with director Denis Villeneuve. All will be revealed tomorrow, so check back to see the trailer and read Villeneuve\u2019s comments about the film and all the spice revealed.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlready, the pump is being primed for the third installment, with star Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet revealing his character poster on his social media Monday. Warner Bros has since made several character posters available (see below) including what seems to be the new news that Isaach de Bankol\u00e9\u00a0has joined the cast, playing Farok.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmong the other juicy tidbits fans are awaiting: the revelation of new cast members (some of which we\u2019ve already reported<\/a>); the fate of Chalamet\u2019s Paul Atreides and Zendaya\u2019s Chani, and just how much we will see of Rebecca Ferguson this time around\u2026<\/p>\n

\n\tDune: Part Three, adapted from the 1969 Frank Herbert book Dune Messiah, is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tSo far, this is what we\u2019ve reported<\/a> about the hotly awaited threequel: Robert Pattinson confirmed<\/a> his participation, saying \u201cWhen I was doing\u00a0Dune\u00a0it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn\u2019t question anything,\u201d and, \u201cit was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn\u2019t operating. I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis: \u2018Whatever you want!’\u201d Insiders have also told Deadline in prior reporting that Pattinson will be playing the villain role of Scytale.<\/p>\n

\n\tVilleneuve reportedly shot the film<\/a> last summer, using Imax cameras (in part).<\/p>\n

\n\tAnya Taylor-Joy, who was teased at the end of the second film, will be joining the cast in the role of Chalamet\u2019s younger sister Alia.<\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson, Taylor-Joy and de Bankol\u00e9 where all included among the nine character posters released Monday.<\/p>\n
