He also discussed how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/paul-mccartney\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-mccartney\" data-tag=\"paul-mccartney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paul McCartney<\/a> had joined the Stones to record two songs, Hackney Diamonds\u2019 \u201cBite Your Head Off\u201d and \u201cCovered in You,\u201d which will appear on the band\u2019s new album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/rolling-stones-foreign-tongues-album-review-1235573246\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Foreign Tongues<\/a>, out tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThey were the most prolific songwriters of that time,\u201d Jagger said of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/beatles\/\" id=\"auto-tag_beatles\" data-tag=\"beatles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Beatles<\/a>. \u201cThey wrote all these songs for themselves, which are all huge hits that were coming out all the time. Plus they were writing and giving songs that they made as demos for all these disparate people, like Cilla Black and this one and that one \u2014 all had huge hits with songs which the Beatles wrote, including us, so we were all really happy to get them and it just made them into this huge writing machine, you know, that they were amazingly prolific.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tMcCartney and John Lennon gave the Stones \u201cI Wanna Be Your Man,\u201d which became the Stones\u2019 second single, in 1963. It was a Number 12 hit for the group in the U.K. The Beatles recorded their own version of the song, which Ringo Starr sang, for With the Beatles that same year. Cilla Black recorded the Lennon-McCartney compositions, \u201cLove of the Loved,\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s for You,\u201d and \u201cStep Inside Love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the SiriusXM interview, Jagger shrugged off any supposed rivalry between the Beatles and the Stones, saying it was in their interest to give them a song like \u201cI Wanna Be Your Man.\u201d \u201cWhen they\u2019re giving you the song, they\u2019re also making money,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tElsewhere in the interview, Jagger responded to a question about the possibility of a Stones tour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/mick-jagger-the-rolling-stones-tour-interview-bbc-1235570542\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reiterating his love for performing live<\/a>, and referred to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rolling-stones-may-not-tour-keith-richards-residencies-1235581239\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keith Richards\u2019 recent comment<\/a> about preferring residencies in one city at a time. \u201cI\u2019d love to do shows, and I\u2019d love to tour and all that,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/zMGSi3ucIfI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Jagger said<\/a>. \u201cKeith said he would be wanting to tour, but he wanted to do more in one place and that sort of thing. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to really happen. I mean, I understand, but you know, I\u2019d like to do shows however we do it. I like to do shows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJagger did play <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rolling-stones-mick-jagger-ronnie-wood-play-ringing-hollow-1235591361\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a new Stones song, \u201cRinging Hollow,\u201d<\/a> live recently, though without Richards. Instead, Jagger and Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood performed the song with keyboardist Matt Clifford at an event in London.
