The nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a> were announced on Wednesday, July 7th, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, with Irish talent recognised across nine categories. <\/p>\n

Netflix\u2019s Wednesday, filmed in Ardmore Studios in Co Wicklow, secured multiple nominations. Lynn Johnston, Elaine Hopkins, Helen Bailey, and Dorothy Campbell are nominated for Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic). <\/p>\n

Sevlene Roddy and Peter Burke are recognised in outstanding contemporary hairstyling, while supervising art director Shane McEnroe earned a nomination for outstanding production design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (one hour or more). <\/p>\n

Irish talent received another nomination in the comedy categories, with Irish director Dearbhla Walsh receiving a nomination as an executive producer on Apple TV\u2019s Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles. The show, starring Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer, received a nomination for outstanding comedy series alongside Hacks, The Bear and Only Murders in the Building.<\/p>\n

HBO\u2019s Game of Thrones prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, also had a surprising and impressive showing for its first season filmed in Co Down and Co Antrim. <\/p>\n

Costume designer Lorna \u00d3 R\u00edord\u00e1in received a nomination for outstanding fantasy\/sci-fi costumes, while Cat Coogan was nominated for outstanding period or fantasy hairstyling.<\/p>\n

The Irish production received nominations for production designer Tom McCullagh, too, alongside supervising art director John Merry and set decorator Stephanie Rea, for outstanding production design for a Narrative Program (half-hour).<\/p>\n

The show starring Peter Claffey from Co Galway also received a nomination for best drama series alongside The Pitt, The Diplomat and The Gilded Age. <\/p>\n

Ed Bruce received a nomination in outstanding special visual effects in a season or a movie for his work as VFX supervisor on Apple TV\u2019s Foundation. The majority of the sci-fi drama\u2019s production was carried out in Troy Studios, Co Limerick, with scenes also filmed inside Trinity College Dublin\u2019s Long Room. <\/p>\n

Cinematographer Darran Tiernan, received a nomination for outstanding cinematography for a series (one hour) for Spider-Noir, Sony and Prime Video\u2019s series based on the Marvel comic books.<\/p>\n
