(Photo by Milka Soko, Contributing Photographer)\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#\" class=\"icon-enlarge mng-gallery-fullscreen-expand\" aria-label=\"Expand fullscreen slideshow\">Expand<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The hours-long, free celebration Sunday, July 12, boasted a fandango, live music and entertainment, activities, food trucks, vendors and a performance by Cherry Bomb Revival.<\/p>\n<p>Marin, a Southern California-based actor and comedian who founded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressenterprise.com\/tag\/cheech-museum\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art &amp; Culture of the Riverside Art Museum<\/a>, even cut slices of a birthday cake.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressenterprise.com\/2022\/06\/18\/riversides-cheech-marin-museum-opens-to-cheers-cultural-celebration\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Cheech museum opened in 2022<\/a> as a collaboration with the Riverside Art Museum that displayed part of Marin\u2019s personal art collection. It has since evolved into an extensive collection of Chicano art, including paintings, sculptures, photography and video art.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, the museum housed in the city\u2019s former main library welcomed a new exhibit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressenterprise.com\/2026\/06\/04\/we-the-people-exhibit-centers-chicano-life-at-riversides-cheech\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cWe the People: Chicano Art in the USA\u201d<\/a> that opened in June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Cheech Marin celebrated his 80th birthday with a little help from his friends in Riverside.
