After the stylish dinner hosted by <\/a>InStyle<\/a>, expectations were high for the LA premiere of Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend. While Chlo\u00eb Sevigny<\/a> remained true to her distinctive style, much of the rest of the red carpet proved to be a real mixed bag.<\/p>\n

LWDs Are Trending<\/p>\n

Gemma Chan <\/strong>was easily among the evening’s best dressed, bringing a fresh, summery mood in a sculptural white draped dress from the Issey Miyake Spring 2026 <\/strong>collection.<\/p>\n

The fluid draping felt effortless, while the white pumps were exactly the right finishing touch.<\/p>\n

Sticking To The Formula<\/p>\n

Jennifer Garner <\/strong>reminds me of Reese Witherspoon in the sense that both know exactly what works for them and rarely stray too far from that formula.<\/p>\n

Her colourful pastel Greta Constantine Resort 2027<\/strong> strapless dress was another example of that consistency paying off. It may not have been the night’s boldest look, but it didn’t need to be.<\/p>\n

D’Arcy Carden <\/strong>embraced summer in a floral Simkhai <\/strong>halter gown that felt perfectly suited to the occasion.<\/p>\n

Light, feminine and easy to wear, this was another look that captured the easy elegance the season calls for.<\/p>\n

Where It Started To Go Wrong<\/p>\n

Jennifer Morrison <\/strong>was the one person I was counting on to keep the summer mood going, so this black velvet dress came as a real disappointment.<\/p>\n

The dress was as ill-fitting as it was drab, and as underwhelming as it was forgettable.<\/p>\n

West Duchovny <\/strong>opted for a black tailored shorts suit. Minimalism can absolutely work, but this felt flat and ultimately uninspiring.<\/p>\n

Swing And A Miss<\/p>\n

I loved Harlow Jane’s <\/strong>archival choice for the InStyle dinner, but this satin gown simply didn’t work.<\/p>\n

The proportions were awkward, and the construction looked unfinished.<\/p>\n
