It is said to be the 20th anniversary special edition iPhone with a quad-curved glass design. Till now, it only seemed like a concept, but if the latest information from a known leaker is accurate, Apple is moving forward with production.

The leaker in question is Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, and they claimed in their post that the factory has already been renovated to accommodate the new design. They added that the manufacturing process is roughly on the lines of the iPhone Air. If this is any indicator of the build quality, the 20th anniversary iPhone will be very durable.

Furthermore, the leaker added that the factory is just waiting for a go-ahead to start production. Typically, Apple doesn’t start full-scale manufacturing till a few weeks before launch, and considering the 20th anniversary iPhone is expected in September next year, the initial production round could be for prototypes and not the final versions.

It is also believed that while the front is all-glass, the back will likely be aluminum. This design could inspire future generations of iPhones as well. A report by an analyst back in April suggested that the next Pro models could adopt the same design. This would be just like the iPhone X that was released for the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, but then became the design standard for upcoming models.

I have always been passionate about gaming and technology, which drove me towards pursuing a career in the tech writing industry.
