Current Donegal star Michael Murphy and former Republic of Ireland and Celtic legend Packie Bonner will be the star guests at a Donegal diaspora event in London.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is being hosted by the Donegal County Council in conjunction with the London Irish Centre.<\/p>\n

It will take place at the London Irish Centre, on Monday, September 7th.<\/p>\n

Michael Murphy and Packie Bonner will feature in a Fireside chat that will be moderated by renowned broadcaster Sarah Mulkerrins.<\/p>\n

The event will examine the impact the Donegal diaspora has had across the sporting and business world.<\/p>\n

Organisers are bringing together members of the Irish Diaspora, business leaders, sporting enthusiasts and those interested in exploring opportunities in Donegal.<\/p>\n

Attendees on the night will be treated to a brilliant conversation with arguably two of Donegal’s greatest ever sporting exports, in the form of Packie Bonner and Michael Murphy.<\/p>\n

The pair will look back on their remarkable careers, and share their insights in to what defines leadership, resilience and success to them.<\/p>\n

The event is also designed to highlight the economic potential of Donegal and employment opportunities that exist here in the North West.<\/p>\n

Up to ten leading Donegal-based companies have confirmed their attendance, offering attendees a unique opportunity to learn more about career pathways and professional opportunities available throughout the county.<\/p>\n

Participating companies will be announced over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

The initiative forms part of Donegal County Council\u2019s ongoing efforts to strengthen connections with the Irish diaspora and showcase Donegal as an exceptional place not only to visit, but to live, work, invest, and build a future.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the event, Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr. Gary Doherty, said:<\/p>\n

“Donegal has always been defined by its people, both at home and across the world. This event offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our county\u2019s sporting excellence while also highlighting the exciting future that Donegal offers for individuals, families and professionals.<\/p>\n

“We are proud to partner with the London Irish Centre to strengthen our connections with the diaspora and showcase the wealth of opportunities that exist across our communities and businesses. Anyone with an interest in Donegal is encouraged to join us for what promises to be a memorable and inspiring evening,” said Doherty.<\/p>\n

The event is expected to attract a broad audience, from members of the Irish community in the UK, and former Donegal residents considering a return home, to professionals seeking new career opportunities and those simply wishing to reconnect with the county.<\/p>\n

Attendees will have the chance to network with business representatives, engage with fellow members of the diaspora, and gain a first-hand understanding of why Donegal continues to be recognised as a place of opportunity, innovation, and quality of life.<\/p>\n
