And at the much-anticipated blockbuster’s New York premiere last night, the Houston-born rapper was spotted in a pair of Nike sneakers that we’ve actually never seen before. So, naturally, we’ve been zooming in.

Earlier this spring, Nike brought back its legendary Moon Shoe after Jacquemus dug the silhouette out of the archives in 2025. And while the Swoosh reissues old sneakers all the time, this one was a little different. The OG Moon Shoe, after all, represents the birth of Nike as we know it. Co-founder Bill Bowerman famously experimented with rubber in a waffle iron to create a new kind of grippy sole—and just 12 pairs of the early model were handmade for runners at the 1972 US Olympic Trials.

TheStewartofNY

More than 50 years later, Jacquemus put its spin on the silhouette. The French label made it slimmer, softer, and a little more fashion-y. People went crazy for it. Bradley Cooper bought a pair, and it even managed to pull Rihanna away from Team Puma. And by the looks of things, Scott might be getting his own version next.

His mystery pair boasts the Moon Shoe’s super low-profile shape and waffle sole, but everything else has been Cactus Jack-ified. The upper is dripped out in washed black leather and shaggy suede, giving it the slightly battered look that the Utopia artist loves so much. Burnt red laces run up the front. And, of course, there’s a giant backwards Swoosh stitched across the side.

Scott is best known for his Air Jordan 1s, Air Force 1s, and, more recently, the CJ1 T-Rexx. But he’s also got a thing for messing around with newly retro’d Nike models. Just look at his Air Trainer 1 from 2022 or his Mac Attack from 2023. He’s one of the rare collaborators who seemingly gets the freedom to point at a silhouette and say: “Yeah, that one.”

Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images

That’s not something the Swoosh does for everyone. Scott and Nike have been working together since 2017, when he joined the brand’s ‘AF100’ project and dropped his first-ever AF1. Almost a decade later, the relationship is still pumping out shoes that sell out in seconds.

So, will the Travis Scott x Nike Moon Shoe actually get a public release? There’s been no official word from either camp just yet, but we sure hope there will be.

Travis Scott is playing a bard in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
