A wildlife photographer got an unlikely assist in spotting a leopard in a tree in Kruger National Park in South Africa.<\/p>\n
Henri Olckers captured an image of the hard-to-spot leopard\u2014he called it a \u201cmaster of camouflage\u201d\u2014and posted it on Facebook, where viewers had difficulty finding it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere?\u201d one commenter wrote. \u201cDriving me crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another wrote, \u201cNot sure there is a leopard in that tree.\u201d<\/p>\n
Well, there is, but it is definitely not easy to spot.<\/p>\n
In fact, Olckers would have missed it had it not been for a nearby lion.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lioness gave him away,\u201d he wrote in his post<\/a> last summer. \u201cShe was lying in the grass close to the tree. After a while, she got up, walked up to the tree, sniffed the air and looked up. Then walked off. I thought it was a bit suspicious, so we scanned the tree and saw the tail.\u201d<\/p>\n The tail is all you can see of the leopard, its telltale spots showing if you look closely.<\/p>\n To help, Olckers posted another image that shows the tail a bit more clearer.<\/p>\n Next, he posted an image taken a little later that clearly displayed the leopard\u2019s head as it came into view.<\/p>\n \u201cWe would have driven straight past if it wasn\u2019t for the lion,\u201d Olckers wrote.<\/p>\n Also on FTW Outdoors: Can you spot the leopard?
