{"id":593206,"date":"2026-07-19T08:20:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T08:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/593206\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T08:20:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T08:20:13","slug":"tv-magic-fort-worth-residents-watch-taylor-sheridan-production-transform-wedgwood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/593206\/","title":{"rendered":"TV magic: Fort Worth residents watch Taylor Sheridan production transform Wedgwood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"&quot;byline&quot;\">by David Moreno, Fort Worth Report <br \/>July 18, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Leigh Ann Diaz and her husband, Mike, parked at the edge of the Wedgwood Village business center as the sun set on their southwest Fort Worth neighborhood.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They looked across the street as film set trailers, police cars and privacy barricades occupied an adjacent strip mall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Diazes couldn\u2019t see much past security, but they didn\u2019t mind. The longtime Wedgwood residents were just excited to know their community would soon make an appearance in one of Fort Worth-raised filmmaker Taylor Sheridan\u2019s new TV projects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Storefronts at 5356 Wedgmont Circle North were closed off by crews on July 9, 14, 15 and 18 to film scenes for the upcoming crime drama \u201cFrisco King.\u201d Some of the strip mall exteriors were redesigned to become fictional businesses signposted in Arabic, including a bazaar, travel agency and credit union. Some street names were also temporarily renamed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The TV series \u2014 a spinoff of \u201cTulsa King\u201d on Paramount+ \u2014 stars Samuel L. Jackson as a former New York hitman who sets out to build his own criminal empire in Frisco. The show is produced by Paramount Pictures and Sheridan\u2019s 101 Studios.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Photography of the private set was strictly prohibited, according to signs around the property.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly I\u2019m surprised they picked this of all places, but I still think it\u2019s exciting,\u201d Leigh Ann said as she looked toward the set on July 15. \u201cIf anything, it helps the economy. Who can be mad about that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was unclear whether Jackson was on-site during the Fort Worth Report\u2019s trip to the strip mall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Filming for \u201cFrisco King\u201d has been underway since late March across multiple North Texas locations, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/article\/frisco-king-films-university-park-road-22342323.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">University Park in Dallas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/fort-worth-texas-frisco-king-filming-samuel-l-jackson-streets-closed-downtown\/287-2210ad6a-1f37-457b-841e-ef2b3a92e795\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">downtown Fort Worth<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DYPwsnolf01\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Southlake<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the four-day filming period, surrounding Wedgwood streets were closed including Wheaton Drive at Wedgmont Circle, Trail Lake Drive between Wedgmont and Waltham Avenue, and Wales Drive between Trail Lake and Winifred Drive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth police were on-site to facilitate traffic while all businesses maintained full access to their properties, according to a notice sent to residents.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand that we are guests in your neighborhood and appreciate the opportunity to film here in Fort Worth,\u201d Will Angst, a film location manager, wrote in the letter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Diazes weren\u2019t the only residents curious to catch a glimpse of the action during the recent night shoot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a nearby Chevy Equinox, neighborhood postal worker Kim Petrowski gazed at the film trailers. Wedgwood\u2019s inclusion in the project was major for such a tight-knit community, she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She shared how she and other delivery workers got confused by the street name changes when dropping off packages, including a section of Wedgmont Circle to the fictional Braxton Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt caught me off guard for a second, but it\u2019s quite interesting to see how much transformation they have done,\u201d Petrowski said. \u201cIt brings a little bit more awareness and livelihood to the community.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Production on \u201cFrisco King\u201d continues in Granbury on July 20 and 21 as crews <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1449244860573546&amp;set=pb.100064641373572.-2207520000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">film an overnight rave scene<\/a> with adults between the ages of 18 and 25.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming series joins a slew of other Sheridan projects that have made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keranews.org\/entertainment\/2026-07-03\/taylor-sheridan-film-food-culture\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fort Worth their backdrops<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The popular TV drama \u201cLandman\u201d has <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/01\/03\/taylor-sheridans-landman-puts-fort-worth-front-and-center-again\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">filmed scenes<\/a> at Frost Tower and Sundance Square in the city\u2019s downtown, as well as Texas Christian University. The show\u2019s second season held its <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/11\/06\/billy-bob-thornton-stars-of-landman-walk-red-carpet-for-fort-worth-premiere\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">premiere<\/a> at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>Film crews <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2026\/03\/18\/taylor-sheridans-lioness-closing-major-fort-worth-street-to-film-next-week-heres-where\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">closed off a significant portion of University Drive<\/a> in the Cultural District in March for the spy series \u201cLioness,\u201d which stars Academy Award winner Zoe Salda\u00f1a as a CIA operative who trains and leads female agents to go undercover and assassinate dangerous terrorists. Last fall, the show filmed in <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthreport.org\/2025\/10\/08\/taylor-sheridans-lioness-filming-in-fort-worth-neighborhoods-this-month-heres-where\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Berkeley Place and Ryan Place<\/a> neighborhoods.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrisco King\u201d is expected to premiere in 2027, but an exact date has not been announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>David Moreno is the arts and culture reporter for the Fort Worth Report.
