{"id":597381,"date":"2026-07-21T20:33:17","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T20:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/597381\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T20:33:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T20:33:17","slug":"boss-of-collapsed-dublin-windows-company-faces-application-to-make-him-liable-for-debts-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/597381\/","title":{"rendered":"Boss of collapsed Dublin windows company faces application to make him liable for debts \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">DK Windows and Doors boss Darragh Kane is to face a High Court application seeking his disqualification for at least five years from holding directorships and making him personally liable for some or all of the company debts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">DK Windows and Doors collapsed in 2024 owing hundreds of thousands to customers having taken in deposits at a time when it was insolvent, according to a joint liquidators\u2019 investigation following the collapse. Kane was its sole director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Joint liquidators Nicholas O\u2019Dwyer and Colm Dolan of Grant Thornton regarded the conduct of the company before collapse as \u201ca sustained course of egregious behaviour\u201d whereby Kane permitted the company to continue trading and incur further liabilities in circumstances where an inability to meet the orders placed was evident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In the liquidators\u2019 latest report to the High Court, presented by solicitor Graham Kenny, the liquidators now say that the Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA) has directed that disqualification proceedings be brought against Kane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Kenny said there had been communication with Kane about accepting a disqualification order.
