\n\tTravis Scott<\/a> stopped by The Tonight Show<\/a> to discuss his experience making Christopher Nolan<\/a>\u2018s new film The Odyssey<\/a>, which features his song \u201cWhen I\u2019m Home\u201d<\/a> over the end credits. <\/p>\n

\n\tHost Jimmy Fallon<\/a> noted that the film marks Scott\u2019s first time being part of a No. 1 movie. \u201cIt feels way different,\u201d Scott said. \u201cEven my theater teacher from high school, they reached out to my mom. This is like another stratosphere of greatness. All the people [who] were scolding you in when you were in school, trying to make you a great human, are like, \u2018You finally did something good.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tScott recalled working with Nolan previously on his film Tenet, again on the end credits song. But with The Odyssey, Nolan first asked Scott to act, not rap. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy phone went off and it just said Chris and I was thinking, \u2018Okay I don\u2019t know what this is about. Maybe he wants to go to a show,’\u201d Scott said. \u201cSo I pick up and he\u2019s like, \u2018Would you be interested in acting in a movie?\u2019 But I didn\u2019t think it was for him. I thought it might be for somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe rapper described Nolan as \u201ca real mentor of mine\u201d and said he wanted to be part of anything the filmmaker was working on. In the film, Scott plays a Greek bard who sings about Odysseus\u2019 victories in the Trojan War. However, he said he was \u201cnervous as F\u201d doing the role. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI didn\u2019t know that it was going to be Anne Hathaway, Tom [Holland], and Robert Pattinson,\u201d he said. \u201cA bunch of amazing people. And I don\u2019t know what the fuck I\u2019m doing.\u201d He added, \u201cChris is an amazing director. Everybody made me feel comfortable. I was just glad to be there and to watch him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tScott said it wasn\u2019t hard to keep his role a secret, but it was hard to \u201cmake everybody believe that I did this.\u201d \u201cI didn\u2019t want people to think I got placed in this,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe musician hoped Nolan would ask him to write an end credits song, but that request didn\u2019t come up until Nolan had a cut of the movie. He worked with producer Ludwig G\u00f6ransson, who also did the score, and James Blake to write and record \u201cWhen I\u2019m Home.\u201d A video for the track, directed by Scott, will come out next week. <\/p>\n

\n\tNolan previously\u00a0explained<\/a>\u00a0why he cast Scott \u2014 who contributed the Goransson-produced \u201cThe Plan\u201d to\u00a0Tenet\u00a0\u2014 in\u00a0The Odyssey. \u201cI cast [Scott] because I wanted to nod towards the idea that this story has been handed down as oral poetry, which is analogous to rap,\u201d Nolan said.<\/p>\n
