The prospect of\u00a0Prince Harry<\/strong>\u2019s reunion with the royal family and his father,\u00a0King Charles III<\/a><\/strong>, is something the internet is invested in. His recent trip to the United Kingdom this week wasn\u2019t just about charity visits and public appearances. Behind the scenes, it was about trying to rebuild his relationship with the royal family. As such, the Duke of Sussex sat down with the king for the first time in 19 months, and the 54-minute meeting has reportedly cracked a slight chance of reconciliation.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry \u2018wants to reset his relationship with his family and with the people of the UK,\u2019 royal source claims<\/p>\n

An insider from the royal family told the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/a>\u00a0that Prince Harry\u2019s trip showed a change in tone. At the same time,\u00a0King Charles\u00a0reportedly wants to focus on reconnecting with his grandchildren, whom he hasn\u2019t met in three years. The source claimed, \u201cIt\u2019s become clear that Harry now regrets some of his actions. He wants to reset his relationship with his family and with the people of the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added that although it\u2019s difficult for Harry and Meghan Markle to move back to the U.K. permanently, this could mark the start of a more \u201cfunctioning wider family again.\u201d Moreover, another insider noted, \u201cThe King wants to be a grandfather to his grandchildren,\u201d adding, \u201cHe was so pleased when they came over for Queen Elizabeth\u2019s Platinum Jubilee and he was able to spend some time with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Harry re\u2011established contact with his father, the distance between him and his older brother, Prince William, was apparent. Despite being only miles apart, the siblings made no effort to meet. Even so,\u00a0Harry<\/a>\u2018s spokesman said the duke \u201cloved\u201d returning to the U.K., reconnecting with charities and old friends, and claimed that he saw the visit as a success. He capped his four\u2011day tour by supporting The Diana Award before leaving for Ukraine for another commitment.<\/p>\n
