title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the X-37B space plane<\/a> had the potential to be weaponised as a \u201cspace killer\u201d and the tests of the craft highlighted the United States\u2019 ambitions to pursue space supremacy.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The US conducted its eighth test mission for the X-37B last month, launching it aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The US military said that the mission would show cutting-edge technology such as space-based laser communications and quantum navigation to improve the resilience, efficiency and security of space
