\n\tTravis Scott<\/a> is opening up about how Christopher Nolan<\/a> cast him in The Odyssey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a Tuesday night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Scott recalled receiving an unexpected phone call from the Oscar-winning director, who asked if he\u2019d be interested in acting in the Greek epic.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy phone went off and it just said, \u2018Chris.\u2019 And I\u2019m thinking, \u2018OK, I don\u2019t know what this is about. Maybe he wants to go to a show?’\u201d Scott said. \u201cSo I pick up and he\u2019s like, \u2018Would you be interested in acting in a movie?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I mean, I guess, you know? What\u2019s the [role]?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tScott recalled Nolan telling him the film would be \u201ccoming out soon\u201d and that he wanted him to be part of it. Surprised by the ask, Scott responded: \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Whoa, hold on. Wait. You know I make music?\u2019\u201d before Nolan gave him \u201chis whole thesis on why.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI really enjoy his time. I\u2019m really inspired by him. He\u2019s a real mentor of mine outside of this,\u201d Scott said of the Oppenheimer filmmaker<\/a>. \u201cSo I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, whatever you\u2019re down with, I\u2019m down. However it goes, I\u2019m with it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tScott played Demodocus, the bard who narrates Odysseus\u2019 journey in the opening scene and is the first voice and face audiences see in the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough he admitted, \u201cI was actually nervous as \u2018F,\u2019\u201d Scott said he initially assumed his scenes would be with extras.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI didn\u2019t know that it was going to be Anne Hathaway, Tom [Holland] and Robert Pattinson<\/a> \u2014 a bunch of amazing people,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t know what the fuck I\u2019m doing. But they were such an amazing cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tScott continued to praise Nolan and the cast for making it a comfortable experience. The pair previously collaborated on the soundtrack for Nolan\u2019s 2020 film Tenet, which starred Pattinson.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cChris is an amazing director,\u201d Scott said before adding of the cast, \u201cEverybody made me feel comfortable. I was just glad to be there and just watch him. And being in such a world of them. So I\u2019m just glad to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNolan recently spoke with Time magazine<\/a> about why he cast Scott, saying, \u201cI wanted to nod towards the idea that this story has been handed down as oral poetry, which is analogous to rap.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to acting, Scott also recorded the original song \u201cWhen I\u2019m Home\u201d for The Odyssey<\/a>\u2018s closing credits alongside James Blake, with production from the film\u2019s composer Ludwig G\u00f6ransson. Nolan is credited as a co-writer.<\/p>\n
