When she announced her own music festival with an all-women lineup in late June, the response was immediately enthusiastic — tickets went on sale, and the Daisy Chain Fields festival sold out in 30 minutes. Daisy Chain Fields is partnering with ten organizations focused on women’s reproductive health for the single-day event. It’s a subject Rodrigo has been vocal about in the past and continues to speak on in the press.

Ahead of the festival, which will take place on August 29, Etsy announced the release of the Daisy Chain Fields collection, which is reimagined artist merchandise designed by ten different female-owned Etsy shops and will include a flower crown, playing cards, a junk journal, beaded jewelry, and more. The artisan marketplace will also host a creative village at the festival so attendees can craft with their merch on-site. “I’m really excited that girls can get a chance to be crafty and to make some of these items at the festival. I know I’m gonna enjoy doing it,” Rodrigo told The Cut ahead of the launch. “I’m definitely excited about the junk journal. I think that’s going to be a really sweet thing, and I hope people will keep those as keepsakes for a while.”

Below, Rodrigo speaks about the collection and her style evolution as she enters a new phase of her album rollout and prepares for the music festival.

What item were you most excited to make from the Etsy collaboration?

I was really adamant on having a flower crown in the collection, because when I think of Daisy Chain Fields, I think of girls wearing flower crowns and hanging out. It’s an image that comes to mind, so I was really happy with that one, and I also love playing cards. I’m big into card games, so that was an essential piece for me.

How did you determine the aesthetic for the items and the festival? When I thought of the festival, I pictured girls running around and making friendship bracelets, engaging in community, making new friends, and listening to music they love. Daisy Chain Fields sounds like what it felt like to me, and the imagery of a chain symbolizes how strong we can all be when we work together.

Do you want it to be an annual thing?

I really believe in the festival and what it stands for, so I want it to be an annual thing. I really wanted the charities that the festival benefits to reflect the world that we live in and have as much diversity and inclusion as possible. I was very intentional about it, and I’m learning a lot from all these organizations. I’m also excited that the patrons who are watching the shows can get a chance to learn about these charities — because they’re doing such incredible work — and to engage with them in a meaningful way. That’s one of my biggest hopes.

Have you thought about how you want fans to dress, and can you give some style clues for what you want that day to look like?

Whatever people feel comfortable rocking out in is what I think they should wear.
