That was apparent earlier today during his Gaslamp appearance \u2014 and Deadline was standing less than 12 feet in front of him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Hall H, after hobbling on stage with a candle (\u201cI\u2019m speaking into the candle\u201d), he handed it off to director John Francis Daley, who was sitting at the end of the dais. Depp\u2019s Scrooge turned to the crowd and said, \u201cHave you no lives? No responsibilities?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWatch the trailer above. In looks it\u2019s Tim Burton\u2019s Sweeney Todd \u2014 very period, very dark gothic as you\u2019d expect a Ti West title to be, and it\u2019s the Scrooge you\u2019ve never seen before (sorry, Bill Murray). We have Depp\u2019s Ebenezer sinking in a bed, throwing snow balls at a couple. It\u2019s very comical. The beginning credits drum up all the alter egos he\u2019s played \u2014 i.e., Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands \u2014 which have led to this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEarly on in the trailer, Depp\u2019s Ebenezer turns to the camera and beams, \u201cIt\u2019s good to be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNathaniel Halpern adapted the Charles Dickens classic.
