Indeed, one systematic <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC12548199\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC12548199\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"review\" data-node-id=\"9.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">review<\/a> and meta-analysis found that core training significantly improved older adults\u2019 balance performance.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"13\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">What\u2019s more, another recent <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2845052\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamanetworkopen\/fullarticle\/2845052\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"study\" data-node-id=\"13.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">study<\/a> of more than 5,000 women aged 63-99 found that greater muscular strength was associated with a significantly lower risk of death. The researchers concluded that \u2018strength and promoting its maintenance are instrumental for optimal ageing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"18\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">The problem with core workouts is that a lot of them are\u2026 unappealing, for want of a better word. And while crunches and sit-ups work for some people, many would prefer to avoid them like the plague.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"23\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">If you\u2019re somebody who isn\u2019t a fan of these specific core exercises and would rather stack core work onto something you\u2019re already doing, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a71816010\/nhs-walking-rewards-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a71816010\/nhs-walking-rewards-scheme\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"walking\" data-node-id=\"23.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">walking<\/a>, midlife and senior fitness trainer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cindysullivanfitness\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cindysullivanfitness\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Cindy Sullivan\" data-node-id=\"23.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cindy Sullivan<\/a> recently shared an ab and walking workout <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaiAH1SOsdv\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaiAH1SOsdv\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"on Instagram\" data-node-id=\"23.5\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">on Instagram<\/a> that she says her clients love.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"27\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">\u2018No mat. No floor. No crunches. Just your walk, done a little more intentionally,\u2019 she wrote in the caption of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaiAH1SOsdv\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaiAH1SOsdv\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"the post\" data-node-id=\"27.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"32\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\"><strong data-node-id=\"32.0\">\u2018<\/strong>Do this 3-4 times a week and you\u2019ll feel it \u2013 a stronger, steadier core that supports your posture and balance, and shows up in how you move through everyday life.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><strong data-node-id=\"33.0\">The workout <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"38\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Start by walking for 10 minutes to warm up.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"42\" class=\"body-tip css-1c5elkc emevuu60\">Do each exercise for 60 seconds each, followed by a five minute walk.
