{"id":60382,"date":"2025-09-12T21:58:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T21:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/60382\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T21:58:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T21:58:09","slug":"cork-star-luke-murphy-stars-as-cullen-too-strong-for-na-piarsaigh-in-pjfc-last-16-tie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/60382\/","title":{"rendered":"Cork star Luke Murphy stars as Cullen too strong for Na Piarsaigh in PJFC last 16 tie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Cullen 2-18 (2-3-12)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Na Piarsaigh 3-2 (3-0-2)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Cullen are safely through to the quarter-finals of the McCarthy Insurance PJFC after their win over Na Piarsaigh at Glantane on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They were led by their Cork star Luke Murphy, who hit 1-11 of their tally, including two two pointers as he led by example all through.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In the first half it was the battle of the Luke Murphy\u2019s as he was marked by Na Piarsaigh\u2019s full-back of the same name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">But the Piarsaigh man was taken off at half-time as he was on a yellow card and against his namesake they couldn\u2019t take a chance of leaving him on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They called on their former Cork star, John Gardiner, to see could he turn their fortunes around but even his presence in attack didn\u2019t make any difference as Cullen dominated once they got on top.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/4779614_5_articleinlinemobile_DKE120925Football003.jpg\" alt=\"Na Piarsaigh's Sean Paul Cooke breaks through the Cullen defence to score a fine goal during their Premier JFC clash at Glantane.\" title=\"Na Piarsaigh's Sean Paul Cooke breaks through the Cullen defence to score a fine goal during their Premier JFC clash at Glantane.\" class=\"card-img\"\/>Na Piarsaigh&#8217;s Sean Paul Cooke breaks through the Cullen defence to score a fine goal during their Premier JFC clash at Glantane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Piarsaigh got off to the perfect start when Alan Keating pointed from a free after two minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">From the restart they regained possession and Sean Paul Cooke weaved past several players to find the back of the net, to make it 1-1 to 0-1, with Aaron Nolan having pointed for Cullen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Piarsaigh added another goal with Kevin Moynihan setting up Cian Hogan to score, after eight minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This woke Cullen up and they came more into the game, with Murphy getting their second point from play.
