{"id":60448,"date":"2025-09-12T22:39:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T22:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/60448\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T22:39:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T22:39:13","slug":"significant-disruption-to-luas-services-in-dublin-and-some-irish-rail-routes-over-weekend-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/60448\/","title":{"rendered":"Significant disruption to Luas services in Dublin and some Irish Rail routes over weekend \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">There will be significant disruption to a number of routes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\">Luas<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> and railway services across the country this weekend due to maintenance and works on the lines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Luas operator Transdev said there would be no service from the Red Cow to Tallaght and Saggart on Saturday or Sunday. This is due to essential rail replacement works at Belgard. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The Red Line will instead operate from the Red Cow to Connolly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">According to Transdev, replacement bus services will operate between Red Cow and Tallaght and Red Cow and Saggart. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Luas staff will be present at affected stops throughout the weekend to assist customers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">There remains no Luas service between Connolly and The Point due to fire damage in the Docklands area. Green Line services will operate as normal. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThese essential rail works involve replacing track at [the] Belgard stop and the Luas crossing over Belgard Road. A traffic management plan will also be in place for road users in the area,\u201d the operator said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Further works are scheduled for the first and last weekends of October. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/irish-rail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/irish-rail\/\">Irish Rail<\/a> said engineering works will take place between Grand Canal Dock and Greystones on Saturday and Sunday. Consequently, there will be no train service between the two stations. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dart\/\">Dart<\/a> services will operate between Malahide\/Howth and Grand Canal Dock stations only<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The following stations will be closed for train services: Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, Salthill and Monkstown, Dun Laoghaire, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, Woodbrook and Bray.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Dublin Bus will accept valid rail tickets on services between closed stations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Engineering works are also scheduled to take place on Saturday between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/longford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/longford\/\">Longford<\/a> and Sligo, as well as at Clonsilla station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Due to these works, there will be no train service between Longford and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/sligo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/sligo\/\">Sligo<\/a>.
