\n\tRyan Reynolds<\/a> gave maximum effort while angling for a role in Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> during San Diego Comic-Con<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the star-studded team for the forthcoming Marvel Studios<\/a> film was onstage at SDCC<\/a> on Saturday, Reynolds surprised fans when he appeared among the crowd while dressed in Deadpool<\/a>\u2018s gray suit that has not yet appeared on the big screen but can be seen in X-Force comics. Doomsday directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo were among those participating in the panel alongside Kevin Feige<\/a> to promote the Disney film that hits theaters Dec. 18.<\/p>\n

\n\tReynolds joked that his name was Ricky and that he was \u201ccosplaying hard.\u201d He went on to say, \u201cFirst question is for Mr. Paul Rudd<\/a>. Where is Thor, and why was he crying?\u201d This referenced a moment in 2024\u2019s Deadpool & Wolverine, during which Chris Hemsworth\u2019s Norse God of Thunder appears to hold a dying Deadpool in a scene set in the future. <\/p>\n

\n\tRudd quipped, \u201cHe\u2019s a Wrexham fan?\u201d in a dig at the soccer team that Reynolds and friend Rob Mac own. Reynolds fired back, \u201cYou know goddamn well why he was crying.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tReynolds\u2019 Deadpool continued, \u201cThis seems like an awfully expensive way to announce a film. When do you start filming?\u201d This spurred Robert Downey Jr.<\/a>, who stars as Doctor Doom<\/a> after initially playing Iron Man in the MCU, to reply, \u201cIt\u2019s in the can, bro. Look around you. Did you bump your head?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter a pause, a deflated Deadpool responded, \u201cI see. So there\u2019s no additional photography, no overages, hot costs \u2014 maybe last minute additions?\u201d The star then said abruptly, \u201cNo further questions. Happy Hogan, fetch the Audi. We\u2019re leaving.\u201d Reynolds dropped the microphone and made his way out of Hall H. <\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Reynolds has not been officially confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, media rumors have persisted about a possible role for Deadpool. The opinionated anti-hero was last seen on the big screen opposite Hugh Jackman in Deadpool vs. Wolverine, which surpassed $1.3 billion at the global box office. <\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this month, Reynolds confirmed during an appearance at Fanatics Fest that a new Deadpool film<\/a> would indeed come to fruition at some point. <\/p>\n

\n\tOther highlights from this year\u2019s Marvel panel included Ryan Gosling<\/a> teasing his starring role in a Ghost Rider movie<\/a> that Shawn Levy will direct.
