{"id":606518,"date":"2026-07-27T13:39:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T13:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/606518\/"},"modified":"2026-07-27T13:39:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T13:39:14","slug":"planning-lodged-for-300-unit-housing-development-in-cork-city-suburb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/606518\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning lodged for 300 unit housing development in Cork city suburb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_Body1st\">Plans for an ambitious\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.echolive.ie\/corknews\/arid-41882503.html\">housing<\/a> scheme on the outskirts of Douglas Village spanning 300 dwellings have been lodged by Cork developers Bridgewater Homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The construction is seeking planning permission for 210 houses, 90 apartments and a creche for 100 children on lands at Castletreasure, named Donnybrook Manor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The more than 200 homes would comprise a mix of two-, three- and four-bed units spread across detached, semi-detached and townhouse units, the developer said, while the almost 100 apartments would consist of one- and two-bedroom units.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">These would be located across two blocks ranging between two and six storeys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The proposed development fronts onto Donnybrook Hill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The area has experienced significant growth in recent years due to the 24 acres of zoned land that came on the market in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The area is set to deliver more than 1,000 homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">The proposed plans, if granted, would be located near the Bayly site for 472 homes on 52 acres, developed by Cairn Homes, as well as 580 houses and apartments by Murnane &amp;
