Queen Letizia of Spain<\/a>\u00a0looked casually chic as she made a public appearance in La Rioja on Friday, visiting two schools to mark the start of the new academic year.<\/p>\n

Some 28,748 schools in the country reopen their doors this week, welcoming 8,289,090 students and 793,215 teachers back.<\/p>\n

The Spanish monarch, 52, looked relaxed as she\u00a0attended the ceremonial opening of the school year at Entresotos Elementary School and Gonzalo de Berceo Secondary School in\u00a0Rinc\u00f3n de Soto.<\/p>\n

Letizia looked typically chic, wearing a blue button-down shirt with a pair of wide-legged cropped trousers.<\/p>\n

She finished the ensemble with a pair of low-heeled sling-back black patent sandals.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the royal opted for her usual classical look when it came to her make-up donning a fresh base and natural looking eye shadow, blush and lip.<\/p>\n

She wore her shining chestnut locks loose, blowdried into a shiny cascade that tumbled past her shoulders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the Spanish Royal Family’s website, the queen ‘presided over the opening of the 2025\/2026 School Year at the Entresotos Early Childhood and Primary Education Center and at the Gonzalo de Berceo’ Secondary Education Institute Section.’<\/p>\n

When she arrived at the Entresotos Early Childhood and Primary Education Centre, she was met by a number of senior figures.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Among them were\u00a0the President of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, Gonzalo Capell\u00e1n; the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, Pilar Alegr\u00eda; the President of the Parliament of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, Marta Fern\u00e1ndez Cornago; and the Mayor of Rinc\u00f3n de Soto, Javier Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

However, the royal wasn’t just there to meet with the adults, she also had engagements with some of the pupils at the facility – as well as plans to look at some of the spaces.<\/p>\n

Among them were the early childhood education classroom, where she was introduced to the Bee-Bot activity, described by the Spanish Royal Family’s statement about the visit as a ‘small bee-shaped educational robot designed for early childhood education’.<\/p>\n

Letizia then visited the library, where a group of children aged between seven and 10 led a reading activity, which they presented to the royal.<\/p>\n

She also received a special gift;\u00a0three books written by former students of the centre.<\/p>\n

The next activity took place in the music room, where students performed for the 52-year-old, singing Ama, ama y ensancha el alma (Love, Love and Broaden the Soul).<\/p>\n

Next,\u00a0Queen Letizia made her way to the workshop room with a group of volunteers.<\/p>\n

There,\u00a0third-grade students also put on a demonstration, presenting the queen with what was described as an\u00a0Interactive Group activity.<\/p>\n

Letizia was then shown to the gymnasium, where she met some of the teachers from the schools.<\/p>\n

The final activity of the day was making a record the special day, by taking a photo of the royal in the courtyard.<\/p>\n

There, she posed with alongside students of the Entresotos Early Childhood and Primary Education Center and the Gonzalo de Berceo Secondary Education Section.<\/p>\n
