FRENCH PRODUCER DJ Kavinsky has died aged 50.<\/p>\n
Kavinsky, who is best known for producing the synthwave hit \u2018Nightcall\u2019 for the soundtrack of the 2011 film Drive, was found dead in his home in Paris on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
French police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death, but, according to first responders, they have so far found \u201cno suspicious elements at the scene\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kavinsky\u2019s real name was Vincent Belorgey, and he started his career as an actor.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In 2005, he began his music career as Kavinsky, following encouragement from musicians Jackson Fourgeaud of Jackson and his Computer Band, and Quentin Dupieux, Mr Oizo.<\/p>\n
Kavinsky\u2019s early EPs included \u2018Teddy Boy\u2019 and \u20181986\u2019, but his 2010 EP \u2018Nightcall\u2019 \u2013 the title track of which features in the film Drive, starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan \u2013 pushed him into the spotlight.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He released his debut album \u2018OutRun\u2019 in 2013, and went on to tour with Daft Punk, Justice and The Rapture.<\/p>\n
In 2024, he performed \u2018Nightcall\u2019 with Belgian singer Ang\u00e8le at the Summer Olympics closing ceremony in Paris.<\/p>\n
Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, led the tributes to the late DJ, posting on Facebook that Kavinsky was \u201ca source of French pride forever\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRENCH PRODUCER DJ Kavinsky has died aged 50.
