A GAA club have paid tribute to “wonderfully talented footballer and hurler” Killian English after his sudden passing. The young man, from Ballydorgan, Fermoy, died unexpectedly on Monday.<\/p>\n

He played GAA with Ballyduff Upper and also played for Co Waterford development squads over the years. A club spokesperson from Ballyduff Upper GAA said Killian had been “a great friend to so many.”<\/p>\n

“Killian was a wonderfully talented hurler and footballer who proudly wore the red and white jersey throughout his years with the club,” they shared in an online statement<\/p>\n

“He played a key role in many successful teams, helping the club to win numerous underage county titles in both hurling and football. He claimed three points in our Junior B hurling victory last September. Killian also represented Waterford on hurling development squads. As a ciot\u00f3g, Killian had a distinguished style on the field with a beautiful wristy strike.<\/p>\n

“Killian was a great friend to so many in our community. He carried a smile wherever he went, and his warmth and good nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n

“His passing is a heartbreaking loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved him at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n

“At times like these, we are reminded of the importance of looking after one another. If anyone is struggling or in need of support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our club officers. Ar dheis D\u00e9 go raibh a anam.”<\/p>\n

In his notice on RIP.ie, the young man is described as the adored son of Valerie and the late Kevin and stepson to Jason Corcoran, the cherished brother of Jason, Adam, Aaron and Mia, loving grandson of Kathleen and John English, Margaret and the late Martin Frewen.<\/p>\n

“As we try to come to terms with our immense loss, we appreciate your understanding, sympathy, support and love at this very difficult time of Killian’s untimely passing,” the family added, announcing funeral details for the popular young man.<\/p>\n

Killian’s Requiem Mass will be at St. Michael\u2019s Church, Ballyduff Upper, on Friday at 11 am, followed by burial afterwards in St. Michael\u2019s cemetery, Ballyduff Upper.
