\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Paramount<\/a> Pictures is now developing a feature take of Grady Hendrix<\/a>\u2018s novel\u00a0The Final Girl Support Group<\/a>, which will be adapted and directed by Christopher Landon<\/a>, the creative force behind horror hits like\u00a0Freaky, Heart Eyes and several films in the\u00a0Paranormal Activity\u00a0franchise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project reteams Landon with Hendrix after the former produced the author\u2019s\u00a0My Best Friend\u2019s Exorcism\u00a0with Amazon Studios.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Final Girl Support Group was previously set up at HBO Max as a series with Andy and Barbara Muschietti<\/a> producing in addition to Charlize Theron under her Denver and Delilah Films. Theron is no longer attached to the project at the Melrose Avenue lot, but the It filmmakers remain, producing under their Double Dream label. Adam Goldworm\u2019s Aperture Entertainment<\/a>, which reps Hendrix, also continues to produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tParamount Pictures is also developing Hendrix\u2019s novella\u00a0Bad Asstronauts<\/a>. Todd Garner and Goldworm are attached to produce and Hendrix is executive producing that project.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe title of Hendrix\u2019s New York Times bestseller from Random House\/Berkley refers to a Los Angeles\u2013based therapeutic support group for six \u201cfinal girls\u201d\u2014 survivors of mass-murderer rampages whose experiences inspired the slasher franchises that saturated horror cinema in the 1980s and \u201990s, earning them minor celebrity. The Final Girl Support Group also received the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Horror Novel of 2021. Hendrix will serve as an EP on the film.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLandon most recently directed the Blumhouse thriller\u00a0Drop\u00a0starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar for Universal Pictures. Previously, Landon was brought into the Paranormal Activity franchise by Paramount, writing and producing\u00a0Paranormal Activity 2,\u00a03\u00a0and\u00a04, as well as writing and directing its spinoff\u00a0Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.\u00a0Additionally, he directed Paramount\u2019s feature\u00a0Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse. He also directed and wrote the\u00a0Happy Death Day\u00a0franchise. The filmmaker also co-wrote and directed\u00a0Freaky, starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton for Universal, and Netflix\u2019s\u00a0We Have a Ghost, starring David Harbour, Anthony Mackie and Jennifer Coolidge.<\/p>\n

\n\tLandon is repped by WME, Mosaic and Goodman Genow Schenkman Smelkinson & Christopher.<\/p>\n

\n\tGoldworm is producing\u00a0Hannibal\u00a0at Netflix with Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua. Goldworm\/Aperture is active in the horror space with\u00a0Alpha\u00a0at Netflix UK with Taron Egerton, and several Hendrix projects including\u00a0The Blanks\u00a0at Netflix,\u00a0Ankle Snatcher\u00a0at Sony with Ben Leonberg directing and Escape Artists producing, and\u00a0Horrorst\u00f6r\u00a0at Searchlight with Jonathan Levine directing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHendrix\u2019s books have sold 3 million copies around the world. His novel Horrorst\u00f6r\u00a0is also a New York Times bestseller. Among his novels are We Sold Our Souls,\u00a0How To Sell a Haunted House\u00a0(set up at Legendary with Ghost House producing),\u00a0Ankle Snatcher,\u00a0The Blanks\u00a0(set up at Netflix with 21 Laps) and Witchcraft For Wayward Girls.
