You&#8217;re getting a new app \u00b7 TheJournal.ie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BANK OF IRELAND is rolling out a new app for its customers in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>It will initially roll out on Android and will then follow on iOS.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s designed to make \u201ceveryday banking simpler, faster and easier\u201d for customers, and promises a \u201csmoother, more intuitive experience\u201d with strong privacy controls and more straightforward navigation.<\/p>\n<p>Security will be improved with biometrics \u2013 fingerprint and facial recognition \u2013 able to be used for sign-in, to approve payments, add cards to a digital wallet, view their PIN and add new payees.<\/p>\n<p>Among its other improvements are clearer account views, with larger balance displays, continuous scrolling through transactions and daily running totals.<\/p>\n<p>Greater privacy controls will include the ability to blur balances and to quickly freeze or unfreeze cards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dark mode will be introduced, as well as adjustable font sizes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parents and guardians will be able to manage their child\u2019s smart start accounts, with \u201cfull visibility of transactions, and can transfer money in, receive spend alerts, and freeze their child\u2019s card at any time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The bank\u2019s group chief operating officer Ciar\u00e1n Coyle said the app has around 30 million logins each month and is the bank\u2019s most widely-used channel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BANK OF IRELAND is rolling out a new app for its customers in the coming weeks.
