{"id":613242,"date":"2026-07-31T10:25:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/613242\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T10:25:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:25:14","slug":"zha-unveils-first-images-of-beijing-tower-as-start-on-site-draws-near","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/613242\/","title":{"rendered":"ZHA unveils first images of Beijing tower as start on site draws near"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Drawn up for the state-owned Beijing Kuntai Holding Group, the new visualisations show a 140m-tall Z8 Tower which will provide offices, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities across 170,300m2 of floor space.<\/p>\n<p>The practice landed the job in 2024 following <a href=\"https:\/\/internationalarchitectureawards.com\/project\/61784\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an international competition,<\/a> which also attracted entries from the likes of Andrew Bromberg Architects.<\/p>\n<p>According to ZHA, the tower will create a \u2018vertical city\u2019, combining workspace with hospitality and amenities, connected to the local subway and national rail network.<\/p>\n<p>A series of verandas and atria runs up through the full height of the tower on the western fa\u00e7ade, offering terraces with green planting designed to \u2018bring the adjacent central park into the tower\u2019s core\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The project adds to ZHA\u2019s significant and growing portfolio in the country. The company\u2019s most recent accounts affirm a \u2018long-standing commitment to China\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Although turnover from Asia fell for the practice in the 2025 accounts compared with the previous year, the region still made up more than 30 per cent of its income.<\/p>\n<p>The Z8 Tower will join several other ZHA-designed projects in China which have come to fruition recently, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zha.com\/projects\/architecture\/capital-international-exhibition-convention-centre\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Capital International Exhibition &amp; Convention Centr<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zha.com\/projects\/architecture\/capital-international-exhibition-convention-centre\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">e<\/a>, also in Beijing, which opened in February last year.<\/p>\n<p>Construction on the new tower is due to start soon.
