{"id":613623,"date":"2026-07-31T15:17:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T15:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/613623\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T15:17:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T15:17:14","slug":"curry-barker-gary-oldman-robbie-brenner-join-tiff-market-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/613623\/","title":{"rendered":"Curry Barker, Gary Oldman, Robbie Brenner Join TIFF Market Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tObsession director <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/curry-barker\/\" id=\"auto-tag_curry-barker\" data-tag=\"curry-barker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Curry Barker<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/gary-oldman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gary-oldman\" data-tag=\"gary-oldman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gary Oldman<\/a> and Mattel Studios President and Barbie producer <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/robbie-brenner\/\" id=\"auto-tag_robbie-brenner\" data-tag=\"robbie-brenner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Robbie Brenner<\/a> have joined the Visionaries and Dialogues talks program of Toronto\u2019s rebooted TIFF Market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOldman, who will be in Toronto for the premiere of the sixth season of Apple-backed drama Slow Horses <a data-id=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/yaga-world-premiere-set-for-toronto-film-festival-primetime-1237001299\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/yaga-world-premiere-set-for-toronto-film-festival-primetime-1237001299\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in its TV-focused Primetime section<\/a>, and Oscar-nominated Brenner will speak as part of the market\u2019s Visionaries talks sidebar. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBrenner is at TIFF this year as the producer of psychological historical drama The Housewife, with Naomi Watts and Tye Sheridan, which will world premiere as a Special Presentation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLee Chang-dong, who will be in Toronto for the North American premiere of his new film Possible Love and to receive the Ebert Director Tribute Award, will also give an in-depth talk about his work in the strand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBarker, who debuted Obsession in TIFF\u2019s Midnight Madness sidebar last year ahead of its box office breakout success for Focus Features\u2019 will dissect the making of the film and its subsequent release journey in the Dialogues program, accompanied by the film\u2019s star Inde Navarrette.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOther speakers in that strand will include Killer Films co-founders Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler, who will talk about the multi-faceted role of a producer and their approach to working with filmmakers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe newly unveiled speakers join previously announced guests, Warner Bros.
