\n\tAfter \u201cObsession<\/a>\u201d became an unprecedented box office success<\/a> and earned over $400 million<\/a> from a small budget, all eyes are on breakout star Inde Navarrette<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been taking a lot of meetings since \u2018Obsession\u2019 came out,\u201d she explained on Variety\u2019s \u201cUp Next\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s been really nice because you get to meet people and ask questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of those meetings, as one might expect for one of Hollywood\u2019s rising stars, was with Marvel<\/a> Studios. Navarrette revealed she recently met with \u201cThunderbolts\u201d director Jake Schreier<\/a>, who is now developing Marvel\u2019s upcoming \u201cX-Men<\/a>\u201d film. She said she grew up watching Fox\u2019s original 2000s \u201cX-Men\u201d movies and praised Schreier for bringing back the character-driven storytelling that she loved about that era of Marvel.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI thought what Jake brought to \u2018Thunderbolts\u2019 was what I used to love about Marvel,\u201d Navarrette said. \u201cIt was character-driven, and the whole time I just couldn\u2019t stop yapping about how much I appreciated what he did with Marvel.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the \u201cObsession\u201d star stopped short of revealing more about her conversation with Schreier, she tempered expectations by explaining that many of her recent meetings have simply been opportunities to meet filmmakers she admires, whether or not they lead to a contract being signed.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s kind of the luxury I have right now, meeting all these different kinds of people,\u201d she said. \u201cNot all of those meetings turn into projects, but sometimes it\u2019s just, \u2018I really want to work with you. I\u2019ve seen this project, and this one, and this one.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Several of the legacy \u201cX-Men\u201d actors, including Patrick Stewart\u2019s Professor Xavier, Ian McKellen\u2019s Magneto, James Marsden\u2019s Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer\u2019s Beast, Alan Cumming\u2019s Nightcrawler and Rebecca Romijn\u2019s shape-shifter Mystique will appear in \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d this December.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing \u201cAvengers: Secret Wars\u201d in 2027, which will likely bring back even more legacy Marvel performers, Kevin Feige\u2019s Marvel universe will start anew with a younger group of X-Men in Schreier\u2019s upcoming film. Presumably, Sadie Sink\u2019s Jean Gray<\/a> (just introduced in Marvel and Sony\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d) will be one of the leading stars of the film.<\/p>\n
