Coronation Street<\/a> star Vicky Meyers has revealed that she is secretly engaged – three months after her character married on the soap.<\/p>\n

The actress, 50, who plays DS Lisa Connor-Swain in the ITV<\/a> series tied the knot with Carla Connor (Alison King) in April.<\/p>\n

But now she also has a real wedding on the horizon as she confirmed she was in fact engaged to a mystery partner while replying to a cruel troll in X comments who had accused her of keeping her boyfriend a secret.<\/p>\n

Writing on X she said: ‘He’s actually my fianc\u00e9,’ in response to the original troll’s post which has now been deleted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her fans were thrilled for her and penned underneath:\u00a0‘That’s really lovely. I wish you all the happiness in the world, and hopefully that will stop all the needless speculation about your private life.’,<\/p>\n

‘Vicky I wasn’t ready for the world to know about us yet!!!’,<\/p>\n

Lisa and Carla made history when they tied the knot on Corrie back in April in the soap’s first lesbian wedding.<\/p>\n

But in typical soap style, their special day was overshadowed by a murder and their original wedding venue was cancelled at the last minute.<\/p>\n

The episode then saw Lisa enlist Sally Metcalfe to round up their pals and arrange a surprise wedding reception in Underworld.<\/p>\n

Before Carla and Lisa’s wedding, the show had never seen a successful lesbian wedding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sophie Webster’s big day was being jilted at the altar in 2011, and\u00a0Rana Habeeb died before saying her vows in 2019.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Corrie fans saw Carla and DS Lisa finally give in to their feelings.<\/p>\n

Back in February of this year Corrie fans were left in shock after learning Vicky’s real age and begged her to ‘drop the secret’ to her youthful appearance.<\/p>\n

She shared an Instagram post to mark her milestone 50th birthday that month.<\/p>\n

Writing a lengthy caption accompanied by the snap of a stunning sunset, she penned: ‘Hello 50!\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Thank you for the messages, cards, letters, edits and reels, (I still don’t quite know the difference between the two but hey\u2026) and the gifts, oh my goodness, the gifts!!!<\/p>\n

‘What do you say when ‘thank you’ just doesn’t quite hit the mark? I’m so incredibly grateful.<\/p>\n

‘Whilst we are on this topic though, please do not feel that you have to send a gift to receive a signed cast card.<\/p>\n

‘That is absolutely NOT the case. I would hate for anyone to think that and I worry some might. All you need to do is pop a letter in the post to the studios; I’ll read it, respond, sign the cast card and post it back to you, at some point.<\/p>\n

She went on: ‘\u203c\ufe0fPlease be patient but you will receive a response at some point this year, I hope.<\/p>\n

That said, I don’t want this message to come across that I’m being ungrateful either, because that could not be further from the truth.<\/p>\n

‘I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude and my heart is full, as is my front room.<\/p>\n

Vicky concluded emotionally: ‘\u2728Thank you for making the day so very special!<\/p>\n

‘Here’s to another trip around the sun \u2600\ufe0f it’s going to be the best yet! Lots of love.’<\/p>\n

Fans in the comment section wished the star a happy birthday, with many left\u00a0incredulous to learn her actual age claiming ‘you don’t look a day like 50.’<\/p>\n

A fan raced to write below: ‘Everything is so deserved your the best role model, actress and woman ever! So humble so down to earth, simply with the biggest heart.<\/p>\n

‘You don’t look a day like 50 – more like 30 and we do need your secret for it please!<\/p>\n

‘I hope you had the best day, I love supporting you and thank you for everything<\/p>\n

‘You’re the absolute best and so so gorgeous! Love the nature pic as well \u2728.’<\/p>\n
