Update<\/strong>: Apple Pay remained unavailable for many users across the US as of 10 p.m. Friday. The outage began around 5 p.m., and users continued to report problems completing payment transactions. Apple had not yet responded to the reports or provided an estimated timeline for restoring the service.<\/p>\n

Initial report<\/strong>: Apple Pay is down for thousands of users across the US, with many reporting they are unable to connect to wallet services.<\/p>\n

Downdetector reports<\/p>\n

According to Downdetector, outage reports began around 5 p.m. Friday. Users have reported issues with Apple Cash transfers, including difficulties sending payments to others.<\/p>\n

Some users said they encountered two error messages: \u201cUnable to connect to wallet services\u201d and \u201cUser cannot receive payments sent with Apple<\/a> Cash at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apple has not yet issued a statement on the reported outage.<\/p>\n

One user complained, “Sent Apple cash, money deducted from my account however receiver never recd it.”<\/p>\n

Another added, “Can finally get past the pinwheel to send, then it times out after I do the face scan to send. Error message saying it’s not available. Must be a thing, I did all the sign outs, toggle the apple pay\/cash, all of it. Still not working.”<\/p>\n

A third person reported, “Someone sent me money but it\u2019s not showing up in my Apple Wallet.”<\/p>\n

Another wrote, “Can\u2019t transfer funds to anybody says unavailable.”<\/p>\n

Social media reports<\/p>\n

Many users also took to X (formerly Twitter) to report issues with Apple Pay.<\/p>\n

A user wrote, “Apple Pay is down and I need y\u2019all to get that fixed expeditiously! On a Friday is crazy.”<\/p>\n

Another reported, “I got money on my apple pay & ts keep declining in the store. & when i try to transfer it, it says unable to connect.”<\/p>\n
