13:15 Doncaster \u2013 Galeron<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Galeron<\/strong> was a classy horse for Charlie Hills before moving to Australia, where he didn\u2019t reach the same heights. He was fifth in the Lincoln Handicap over course and distance on his return to the UK, but has been disappointing since. He\u2019s dropped 8 lbs in the handicap as a result, and he\u2019s getting back to a mark where he can be competitive again. He gets my tentative vote.<\/p>\n

13:50 Doncaster \u2013 Gewan<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Oxagon was an impressive eight-length winner at Sandown on his last start, but the more I look at Gewan<\/strong>\u2018s win in the Acomb at York, the more I love him. I love the way he lengthened and went through the line, and he looks like a really straightforward type. It\u2019s Gewan for me!<\/p>\n

\"How<\/a><\/p>\n

Hamish and Military Academy<\/strong> meet again, having finished first and second respectively at Goodwood on their last start. Military Academy receives a 3 lb swing at the weights, and that would give him a chance. I\u2019m siding with the younger horse to reverse the form.<\/p>\n

14:25 Doncaster \u2013 Jakajaro<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Jakajaro<\/strong> has proved costly to follow, but I\u2019m taking a chance on him again. This trip should suit him, and he ran well at Ascot on good to soft ground on his last start when third behind Woolhampton and All Ways Glamorous. The cheekpieces go on, and that\u2019s drawn me in. Off a mark of 96 with Jamie Spencer on board, hopefully the added headgear can bring out enough improvement for him to take this.<\/p>\n

14:40 Chester \u2013 Ndaawi<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Galway Hurdle winner Ndaawi<\/strong> was disappointing on the flat at Newmarket in last year\u2019s Cesarewitch, but his hurdles form is strong. He runs off a mark of 89 back on the flat, and I\u2019m siding with him for Gordon Elliot and Cieron Fallon.<\/p>\n

Shadow Of Light<\/strong> is the best horse in this race, and connections may have learnt a little more about him on his last start in Deauville. He looks like he needs to be produced a fraction later, having got to the front early last time before being caught late. Billy Loughanne takes the ride and he\u2019s the one for me.<\/p>\n

15:40 Doncaster \u2013 Lambourn<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Carmers ran a blinder behind Prince of Arras in the Great Voltigeur at York, but I\u2019m not convinced by how that race was run. Lambourn<\/strong> was disappointing in the same race, but Aidan O\u2019Brien\u2019s pre-race comments suggested it was more of a stepping stone for him. I\u2019m siding with him again \u2013 he was good when winning at Chester, excellent at Epsom and workmanlike at the Curragh. I\u2019ll back the Derby winner to win the St Leger!<\/p>\n
