A Hollywood actress and a retired English rugby star have launched a crowd-funding campaign to ask the public to help fund their upcoming wedding, despite the pair having a combined net worth of $US8 million ($11 million).<\/p>\n

AnnaLynne McCord, who is best known for her starring role in the 90210 reboot, and Danny Cipriani, a former rugby union star, have taken the bold approach of launching a donations registry to cover expenses for their October 22 nuptials.<\/p>\n

According to Page Six<\/a>, the couple created a registry on Honeyfund<\/a> that lists wedding-related expenses for their supporters to donate to so McCord, 39, and Cipriani, 38, can have the perfect day and honeymoon. <\/p>\n

\u201cGift any amount, contribute to our journey!\u201d the registry read. \u201cHelp us create our dream wedding and honeymoon experience with any amount of donation.\u201d <\/p>\n

The list of giftable items were very specific, including $US600 for venue construction, $US300 for photography and $US1200 for floral arrangements. There is even an option to donate $US100 towards the couple\u2019s marriage license. <\/p>\n

Supporters also have the option of making general donations, ranging from $US10 to $US5000.<\/p>\n

Understadably, the internet is outraged by the couple\u2019s request, with some calling it \u201cterribly low rent\u201d and \u201cbeyond tacky\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe embarrassment and audacity of this,\u201d one user tweeted on X, as another agreed, \u201cThis is embarrassing. I think that influencers who get sponsored weddings are cringe, but asking for cash? Next level shame.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat an absolutely WILD thing to do,\u201d tweeted another, as one commented, \u201cI\u2019m sorry but she\u2019s full on cringe doing this. Go to city hall like everyone else who can\u2019t afford a lavish wedding or figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Added another, \u201cGiven all the funding needs in the world today – IMO this is very selfish & disgusting!\u201d<\/p>\n

McCord first gained fame in 2007 when she played the scheming Eden Lord on the hit series Nip\/Tuck before going on to star as resident mean girl Naomi Clark on the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot from 2008 to 2013. <\/p>\n

Her most recent role is on the long-running soap Days of Our Lives, which she has starred in since 2024. <\/p>\n

As for London-born Cipriani, he made a fortune from his rugby career, where he played for Wasps, Sale Sharks, Gloucester and Bath during his two-decade-long career. <\/p>\n

He also did a stint Down Under with Melbourne Rebels, where he was a marquee player for the team in the Super Rugby from 2011 to 2012. <\/p>\n

The British star proposed to McCord in front of their loved ones in their LA home on Christmas Day last year, presenting the actress with a 15-carat, emerald-cut diamond set on a yellow gold band. <\/p>\n

\u201cI cried for 10 minutes straight,\u201d she shared in an interview with People<\/a> magazine at the time. \u201cAt some point, I realised I had to answer. I said, \u2018Yes, but I can\u2019t even speak,\u2019 and he replied, \u2018That\u2019s OK, it\u2019s actually a good sign that you are quiet for once.\u2019 Then, we\u2019re all laughing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple first met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2016 and dated on and off for years before splitting in 2020. <\/p>\n

She was also in an on-off relationship with Aussie actor and Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, with the pair dating in 2011 and officially ending in 2018.<\/p>\n

McCord soon found her way back to Cipriani with the pair reconnecting in 2024. <\/p>\n

\u201cI get to love him! It\u2019s the best thing that I\u2019ll ever do. And there\u2019s the other side of me, the overachiever, Type A personality that says, \u2018I was right! I win! Yes!\u2019\u201d she said of Cirpriani in her People interview.<\/p>\n
