\n\tAs a performer, Ed Sheeran<\/a> hasn\u2019t reached the top 10 on Billboard\u2019s global charts in over a year and hasn\u2019t topped the list since 2021. But as a songwriter, he bookends the top 10 of this week\u2019s Billboard Global 200<\/a> (dated Aug. 8) with cowriter credits.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the fourth consecutive week, Shakira<\/a> and Burna Boy<\/a>\u2019s \u201cDai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)\u201d leads the Global 200, which counts Sheeran as one of five writers, alongside Shakira, Jon Bellion, Ahmed Saghir and Alexander \u201cA.C.\u201d Castillo Vasquez.<\/p>\n

\n\tPlus, KATSEYE<\/a> debuts at No. 10 with \u201cAnimal,\u201d cowritten by Omar Fedi, Johnny McDaid, Blake Slatkin, and Sheeran.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDai Dai\u201d holds atop the Global 200 despite its first week-to-week dip in worldwide consumption since its May release, down 2% in streams to 56.8 million in the week ending July 30, according to Luminate \u2014 the first chart tracking week after the conclusion of the World Cup. \u201cAnimal\u201d starts with 29.8 million global streams in its first week of release and marks KATSEYE\u2019s first top 10 on the chart, surpassing last year\u2019s \u201cGabriella,\u201d which climbed as high as No. 16.<\/p>\n

\n\tFive years ago, Sheeran\u2019s first Global 200 No. 1 was also as a cowriter on someone else\u2019s song. He topped the chart by penning BTS<\/a>\u2019 \u201cPermission to Dance,\u201d which led the July 24, 2021-dated list. There, he was credited with Jenna Andrews, Steve Mac and, again, McDaid. And though their releases predate the Global 200\u2019s launch, he has topped the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100<\/a> as a writer via Justin Bieber<\/a>\u2019s \u201cLove Yourself\u201d and cracked the top 10 with Major Lazer<\/a> and DJ Snake<\/a>\u2019s \u201cCold Water\u201d (No. 2) and Benny Blanco<\/a>, Halsey<\/a> and Khalid<\/a>\u2019s \u201cEastside\u201d (No. 9).<\/p>\n

\n\tWith an artist credit, Sheeran last touched the Global 200 top 10 on \u201cSapphire,\u201d which debuted at No. 8 in June 2025. He got there twice in 2022, each time alongside a female collaborator: He was featured on Camila Cabello<\/a>\u2019s \u201cBam Bam\u201d (No. 5) and carried his own \u201cThe Joker and the Queen,\u201d featuring Taylor Swift<\/a>, to No. 10. The year before, he replaced his cowrite on \u201cPermission to Dance\u201d with his own \u201cBad Habits\u201d at No. 1 (July 31, 2021-dated chart) and got to No. 3 with \u201cShivers\u201d that November.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Global 200 launched in September 2020, which means that Sheeran\u2019s 2010\u2019s output predates the chart and likely would have added to his count of top 10 hits. Still, 2017\u2019s \u201cPerfect\u201d and \u201cShape of You\u201d remain on the ranking to this day, six years on from the chart\u2019s inception and nine years after their release on Divide.
