You probably won\u2019t catch Anya Taylor-Joy<\/a> method acting anytime soon. The 30-year-old actor, who stars alongside Drew Starkey<\/a> in the Apple TV series Lucky<\/a>, got candid about her qualms with the technique during an interview with Complex<\/a> published on Tuesday, August 4.<\/p>\n While speaking with journalist Jillian Superstar, Anya playfully made a dig at her male peers who have used the approach while working on certain projects.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019ll notice, women don\u2019t method-act because we have things to take care of,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cSo, we can\u2019t completely lose our minds.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere during the interview, Anya admitted that she already feels like acting is \u201ccontrolled psychosis\u201d without the intensity of going method.<\/p>\n \u201cYou are pretending to be somebody else and having their thoughts 16 hours a day and moving like them, in their house, in their clothes,\u201d she shared. \u201cIt\u2019s like having a sister or a roommate check in up there for a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n The Queen\u2019s Gambit alum added that her loved ones have kept her in check from time to time as she prepares for certain roles. \u201cSometimes, if it gets a little bit out of hand, they\u2019ll call me by the character name and be like, \u2018Yo.
