There’s now a Gemini for Home assistant on connected speakers, as well as a new Gemini for Google TV for devices like the Google TV streamer. “We are committed to providing a smooth transition and are confident that Gemini will offer you an even more capable and helpful assistant experience,” Google said in the email.

For Android users still using the old Google Assistant, the mobile app will be removed after September 4, leaving Gemini as “the assistant experience” on Android. However, Google said in the email that the Assistant retirement process may take a few weeks to complete. “Once availability is removed, you will no longer be able to use or switch back to Google Assistant on your phone, tablet, or paired devices,” the company explained.

The legacy Google Assistant will also be retired on Wear OS smartwatches, headphones, and Android Auto after September 4. However, cars with Google built-in, which run the company’s automotive operating system directly without the need for a connected phone, will keep access to the Google Assistant beyond September 4, 2026.

The legacy Google Assistant will soon be retired for good as the company’s new Gemini chatbot is now…

[74
821,6849,18,10842,11671,19,17,82,3451
post-621601","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-technology","tag-android","tag-android-auto","tag-eire","tag-google-assistant","tag-google-gemini","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-technology","tag-wear-os
["GET
